I know, a repeat picture - but eh, when Prine sparks, it sparks big time.  Actually,  I am trying to learn this new format and what better way then to Prine.

Oh yes, did I tell you folks - I will be seeing John Prine - on May 5th - Vancouver.  Great company, Janis and Brett Ferguson, Jason Wilber, and David Jacques along with a few other folks ;)  Great Prine days indeed.

Prine/Prime

Good heavenly heathen days folks, I was at the grocery store today and had a coupon for Prime rib roast - buy one get on free.  One roast was $73.64.  I told Noisemaker we will pass on this, walk on by - do not stop.  Can you imagine - Hello.

I can purchased a cheaper cut of meat, slow cook it - listen to Prine (John Prine)...and have mega bucks in my pocket like a lucky laurette.

Google Blogger has changed there ways, I am hoping this works.  I must learn the new format, long before May 5th - you know - JPD - John Prine Day - and how exciting it is.

It Spikes - Prine Or Smucksville!

ah, too funny folks - this blog clearly spikes when I Prine.  Maybe I am the only Prine google blogger out there and I live on a mountain side.  Smucksville ~ it amazes me.

Some odd spikes, I have had.  Yikers, Video Making - John Prine - do not want to use that on a subject line again.  Happiness is a Road Sign - folks - really...anyone can have a road sign.  Great fun, isn't it.  I enjoy this blog very much.    I cannot imagine what heavyweight bloggers do.  How do they keep up?  Oh alas, maybe they all working with Playtex, I do not know of those features.

I was featured at our Firemens' Dinner tonight, took me quite my surprize - I received my 5 year pin - geez, she even spoke of my baking.  Quite a few folks tonight spoke of my baking.  I  enjoy to bake, I follow along with Duncan and Betty - they are quite a sparkling team.  Duncan Hines and Betty Crocker.

I spoke when I could about John Prine, it all was not quite registering.  I spoke of how I am going on May 4th to meet with a friend (Janis Ferguson and her husband Brett) to see John Prine - (oh did I tell ya - May 5th).  It is somewhat difficult for folks to understand how you meet 'on line' - and then go to meet these folks.

Not difficult for me - we have one thing in common - We Prine!

Sunday - Our Wildlife

My feather friends.
Shadows!

Animal farm on the mountain side today.  Otters, grouse, and foxes.  The wildlife is sure abundant this time of year.  They are all flirting, some are making nests.  Wildlife, I love here.

Beautiful weather, 17 degrees C.  66 degrees F.  41 more days to Prine!

John Prine - Vancouver - 2012-05-05 - Video Making

Oh dear folks - there is no John Prine video making in Vancouver.  My video making was a failure, I was trying to do that off my camera but I am not willing to sit with a lawyer to figure it all out.  It is picture takin' time here as it will be on May 5th, picture takin' Prine time!

Yeppers, it was a spikesville.  Thank you.

One Big Icicle

Only on the mountain side.

I look so forward to spring and tulips blossoming - and May 5th!  Bet you folks near tire of me prancing Prine. My guess, is NOT - teehee

John Prine - Milwaukee

Photo - again, thank you, Amy Mullins

Good grief, I wonder if she was right next to him. Lucky laruette had front row seats!  When we (Janis and Brett Ferguson and myself) go to visit Will Call, I hope he delivers us front row seats.  My word and holy Prinesmucksville, could you imagine in Vancouver if we received front row seats!  I guess it all depends on how Mr. Will Call feels about a lady from the mountain side and a couple from Winnipeg. teehee.

Great Photo, oh to be that close.  Very Nice.

Video Making

I have finally figured out the video making instructions and I will not be posting videos.  You have to download the program to upload your video.  All this up and down stuffola is nearing me to dizziness.

I will stick to taking photos.  I enjoying taking photos.  Imagine all that snappin' I'll be doing on the streets of Vancouver ... you know when I go to meet Janis and Brett Ferguson ... and of course, to see John Prine.  42 more days to see John Prine.  Oh my, I sure am on the side of excite!  Some mornings when I am out on the porch, I think about Vancouver - then, I have the biggest smile and the warmest heart.

Upload/Dial Down/John Prine-Vancouver

I am afraid I cannot upload the video; it simply cannot be done on dial down.  I waited 45 minutes this morning to upload, smucksville.  You would think I was making a full length movie, good grief, the video only last maybe 1 1/2 minutes.  I keep wondering if maybe I forgot a step or I did not do this or that. Oh my, I just thought maybe I have to convert something, I'll give that a whirl.

Yesterday was welfare Wednesday.  That heathen of a neighbor down the road has started up his fine music - yeppers, 5 a.m. this morning I go out to the porch and all I can hear is boom, boom, boom.  I contacted our local governmental representative but unfortunately there is very little that can be done.  I told him I will call the police everytime that noise disrupts my peace.  Eventually the police will tire of me and come on out and finger wag at the heathen.  I saw him out there this morning about 9 a.m. my word, he was so drunk he could barely stand.

Well off to happier thoughts, I have 43 wake ups to John Prine.  42 wake ups to meet Naj at the Blue Umbrella (that is where we are staying).  I still cannot believe this is going to happen; that we are actually going to meet.  I will have lots of pictures to post of our trip and of course, the John Prine concert.

Maybe I will stroll down to the venue on Saturday afternoon and say howdy to Jason and David.  I need that mans' autograph to complete my Hatch print.  Oh yes, I guess that would all occur after we have had our japa dogs.  Couldn't be finer that yappin', toe tappin', John Prinein', and eatin' japa dogs!

John Prine - Vancouver/Video Making

Yesterday I was learning how to make a video with my camera.  I did try to post on here, but it will have to wait until early morning, a better time to upload.  It is hell on dial up, I should not complain as it is better than no internet at all.

The video is too funny - I am outside, the wind is blowing big time, so I pan around shooting the trees in the wind - then I say ...oh I should say something, sing something, then I giggle.  The sound is not that great, but then again, I have never talked to a camera before.  I will have to speak louder next time.

I had to learn to make a video just in case I bump into some interesting folks on the streets of Vancouver.  Oh, I wonder who that could be - maybe John Prine, Jason Wilber, and David Jacques.  Did I tell you folks, Vancouver - May 5th - holy Prinesmucksville!

John Prine - I think I got it!

I am sitting here listening to John Prine - the Singing MAILMAN Delivers...I believe I have the song I wish John Prine to play in Vancouver.  Hey Good Lookin'/Jambalaya.

I grew up with Hank Williams.  Our family had the RCA (record player) sittin' up there on the deep freezer.  We did not have a television set, we listened to records.  I can remember my Dad's voice - singing Hank Williams.

Sometimes, us kids would just wail on out - my Dad would say - you sing on earth - you'll sing in heaven.  I sent my Dad 92 balloons, March 14th.  - ok, Dad - let's dance.  I love you and I will forever miss you.

Oh, Mom and Dad, it is May 5th - Vancouver - John Prine.  I will be attending with Janis and Brett Ferguson.  Smucksville - can you believe it!

Paradise - John Prine, the first song. . .

Early this morning when I went porch side to have my coffee and cigarette in what I thought would be a peaceful moment - not!  Good heavenly days, there is all these screaming sounds I am hearing coming from the direction of the pond.  It is dark out, light snow falling, it is 4:40 a.m.  I remove my scarf to receive sound on my good ear; yikers...I do not recognize the sound.  The sounds, two of them - same animal - different sounds, like they are singing to each other.  It is getting louder, I move closer to the door of the house in case I have to run inside and awake up the Noisemaker.  Then, a great light bulb went off in my brain, it is the otters - Olivia and Oscar, the darlings.  They were making music.  They were communicating.

Now, I must teach them Prine!  First song will be Paradise.

Oh yes, and 46 more wake ups until I hear Paradise - Oh John - tickled blue/pink/purple/orange - heck pick any color you want!

John Prine - Safety Joe

Oh my - how do I find these.

John Prine - Linda Goes To Mars

Love these street signs.
...oh my stars...my Linda goes to Mars

Oscar and Olivia

The other day out at the pond, we spotted an otter.  He was having a great time, playing.  That afternoon, I walked outside and noticed that there were two otters.  Noisemaker was off on the other side of the lot and he too, spotted the two otters.  We both started to run towards each other to say of the news.  We watched them for quite a spell.  Noisemaker suggested we name them; sure, I replied.  He says we should name them Oscar and Amy.  I asked, why Amy?  Noisemaker says it flows together Oscar and Amy.  I told him, I have a Prine friend named Amy and although I do not believe she would mind Amy being used for an otter I would like the name Olivia.  Olivia is it.

Otters mate for life and I do hope Oscar and Olivia will have a long, long life.  I hope they do not get trapped.  They have settled into a comfortable home and are a real treat to watch.  They are so cute when they play and splash around in the water.  They come out on to the ice and lay in the sun, roll around, flip - jump back into the water.

One of the pleasures of living on the mountain side, the wildlife.  I am part of the 'wildlife' - teehee.

Yesterday

I had such a very good day yesterday.  I drove the van!  I do not drive in the winter, I am not a good winter driver nor am I confident driving in the winter.  I drove to the general store.  A new store was having its' grand opening.  A very quaint little gift shop, they had a lot of real unique stuffola.

Driving back home there was a mile long string of great music on the radio.  When I reached the dirt road, I thought to myself ... oh, just pull the van over and dance, so I did.  There I am on the dirt road dancing and singing away with the Soggy Bottom Boys.  Another good dance song came on after that, so I continue.  It was great fun!

I drove home and Noisemaker says to me; what took you so long - the roads are good.  I replied, road was great and so was the radio music; I had to stop, sit a spell, and dance.  Noisemaker, did not reply, I laughed!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

May the hinges of our friendship never grow rusty.

JOHN PRINE - John Pinette

When I became aware John Prine was coming to Vancouver, I went to the Centre For The Performing Arts website (www.centreinvancouver.com).  I started to scroll down to find John Prine - May 5th when I came across John Pinette.  I thought to myself this must be a mistake.  John Pinette - April 14th.  No, they would not have made a mistake like that.  I continued on so my eyes could gleam on the special date of May 5th.

I became curious as to who is this John Pinette.  He is a comedian - see more - www.johnpinette.com

Now I laugh - we have John Who, John Prine, John Pinette and we have prinettes!

John Prine - Vancouver

50 More Days To Prine!

Need I say more ... oh sure, why not.  How exciting it is for me.  I just sit here and smile.  To see John Prine, meet up with Naj and Brett and get off of this mountain side for a few days - Priceless!

Power On - Power Off

For two days we have been in a tangle with the wind.  It has been so fierce here the wind nearly took my skyward.  Trees are falling on the power lines; they seem to get one cleaned up only to have two more fall down.

There is nothing more that can elevate my blood pressure than that of not having power.  When the power goes out on the mountain side, we have no water.  Thankful we do have a generator.  Noisemaker and I can spin into action with seconds of the power going out.  Fetching electrical cords, hooking everything up so that we can run the deep freeze and the refrigerator.

Prior to the power going out yesterday, I was able to bake up some cupcakes for the Bingo Game tonight.  Orange cupcakes with Buttercream Icing.  Oh, that Buttercream Icing - heck I could eat that right out of the tub, it is delicious.

I took some cupcakes over for my neighbor; his eyes were a-gleamin'.  Today, I deliver the balance of the cupcakes to the hall for the big game tonight.  I'll take the opportunity to do some lip flappin' and of course, tell everyone how I am going to see John Prine in Vancouver on May 5th with Naj and Brett.

Moose Photo - Big Moose Photo

I was too into Prine Milwaukee and forgot about the photo of our recent visitors, the moose.  My word, that bull is big.

There are two in the picture - can you see them?  A cow and a bull.

They do not Prine.

John Prine - Milwaukee - Wishes for Pamela and Reeda

Those birds of a feather gathered together in Milwaukee for Prine.  The signs are wish signs for Pamela and Reeda - who are both under the influence of cancer.

They all love Prine.

I wish you love - I wish you happiness

John Prine - Milwaukee

Great concert - one of the best - from my friend Charlene who attended the Milwaukee concert last night.  Charlene says John had a twinkle in his eye; and I think she said a skip in his step.  May not have been a skip but he had something in his step.  I wonder if he maybe would like to jump rope - skipping rope, I know lots of songs and can adapt them very well to any John Prine song.  What do you think, John - care to do a skipping rope song with me on some street in Vancouver?  (mega major giggle).

As luck rides with Charlene, she was in the lobby of a hotel - who do you think wanders in through the revolving door - yeppers...John Prine.  ah, wearing his fine leather jacket and a scarf - but she did not mention any footwear.  I was still struck by the telephone call but I should have been thinking the boots, the boots - footwear.

Note to self - footwear, boots, skipping rope, skipping rope songs.  Oh my, now my mind is going; perhaps John takes a fancy to the tap dancing way.  I can do that - I can do three at one time - toe tappin', head noddin', john prinein and I will cover all of that in Vancouver.  teehee, hopefully with a partner.  But, if no partner, I am well acquainted with dancing on my own.  I do it all the time.

Try to focus now - can you imagine skipping rope on Robson Street in Vancouver singing a Prine song, having Naj and Brett holding the rope, then who arrives but John Prine (oh my stomach is hurting from laughter).  Maybe John would jump in and we could do doubles.  Wild thought - double dutch with John Prine.

Note to Naj - must find a polka shirt!  Bring comfortable shoes, an umbrella, and your fine sense of humor.  Lord, do not forget Brett!

WhooooooBaby, I gotta go now.....

Dave Jacques

Photo Credit - Bev Owens Thompson via Reeda Buresh (www.jpshrine.org)

I went searching for a photo to post on David Jacques - oh my word - I received a painter.  I placed a search for David Jacques - the bass player...the painter is still coming.  Light bulbs are starting to shine on up in my head - Dave Jacques.  Viola.  There was Bev's picture, a great picture indeed.

I had the pleasure of meeting David in 2009 in the back alley of the venue to which he, John Prine, and Jason Wilber were playing at.  Like, Jason and John - David is a gentleman.

Unfortunately, when I met David I did not have my Hatch print with me or I would have got him to autograph it.  I could not find him after the concert.

This time, I truly am hoping to meet up with David - I do need that autograph to complete my hatch print.

Yes, David - that will happen in 57 days :)

John Prine - Milwaukee

Folks you only have two more days and one full moon and then it will be Prine time!

They are all meeting up at Rudy's (see:  www.rudysmexican.com) prior to the concert.  Oh my, does not the menu look good.  I hope Rudy's sends along the message I emailed them to pass on to Mark.

Do not drink too much at Rudy's because you all need to be in full, Prine time form - your best boot/shoe forward.

Prine on, enjoy it to the max.  Think of Tom.  Hugs to you all. ~jpparadise

John Prine - Vancouver - Japa Dog

One of the places Naj, Brett, and I will be going to in Vancouver is the Japa Dog.  For more information see:

http://www.japadog.com/menu_En.html

I showed the website to Noisemaker, he says to me - you best put that in favorites - that is my kind of food.  Yes, it sure is!

For each day that passes brings a day closer to when Naj, Brett, and I will meet.  I cannot say enough times what a dream come true it is for me.  To be able to have my health, to get off the mountain side and meet Prine friends; it is wowsville.

I guess you people that read this blog of mine must know I am quite into the ville of life.  Smucksville is number one.  I thought of smucksville because of the youngins' - the grandchildren.  I did not want to use curse words in front of them - hence, Smucksville was born.  Smucksville is and all around word; use it for good or bad things.  No judgement required.

Smucksville it will be at the Japa Stand on Robson Street - May 4th or 5th - whichever takes our fancy.

Oh yes, I was out on the porch a few minutes ago singing Prine, I change up his words to songs several times...here is one...can you hear it Milwaukee...

I'm gonna get on the old turnpike and I'm gonna ride
I'm gonna leave this town til you decide
Which one you want the most those Opry stars or me
Milwaukee here I come from the mountain side, BC!

Then, I giggled

John Prine - Vancouver

To pass the day away, I like to search for John Prine events.  Today I found this one:

http://www.straight.com/timeout/search/music?page=4

Two months from today, that is where I will be along with Janis (Naj) and Brett Ferguson.

Holy Smucksville, what a time it is going to be.  Sometimes in the early morning when I go to visit the porch, I often think of Prine and getting to meet Naj.  I just sit there and giggle/smile - it warms my heart.

I think my Noisemaker is happy that Naj's husband, Brett will be walking, Prineing with us.  Noisemaker - okay - she's Prinein', that short thing is not safe down there in the lower drainland.  Oh alas, I always am - it comes natural, like dreaming.

To note - to some of you that are new here; Naj is Janis Ferguson.  I had to change her name because Janis Ferguson and Jason Wilber were far too close in the contact book.  One time I accidently sent an email to Jason Wilber and told him - you go girl - get the laundry done.  After I hit send, I realized oh my, I think I sent that to Jason.  I emailed to Jason and apologized, that email was directed to a friend not you.  Jason, being the gentleman he is; returned emailed - no problem.  I still laugh about my fumble....but in the same breath - it was kind of like a touchdown.  I do receive emails from Jason in regards to his radio program; www.jasonwilber.com but only have I had one concerning a mistake in Jason and Janis doing laundry.  :)

Beautiful Fresh White Stuff

Outside my door, this morning - beautiful white fresh stuff just waiting to be shovelled.  My word, it is so heavy today, I finally gave up.  Noisemakers' turn.

While I was shovelling, as previously mentioned I was singing Diamonds In The Rough ~ John Prine.  Humidity is high here today so I also sang Humdity Built The Snowman and then giggled.  I thought of Sue Umbrella sitting there last night in Hershey toe tappin' to that tune.

I keep wondering which song I would like John Prine to play in Vancouver on May 5th.  Geez and smucksville; they all get rolling around in my head and I get everything all mixed up.  Sort of turns into something like this...
Humidity built the snowman
Sunshine brought it down...
Oh John, I am so sick of this snow
And soon my plough boys will come
You got gold, gold inside of you
I got some, gold inside me too
But if I had wings I'd fly off to Milwaukee
Oh - I'm sorry my daughter but you are too late in asking
Mr. Peabody's coal train has hauled it away
But why does he not come and haul my snow away
and what do you want to be when you grow up
Jesus - said god - oh my god what have I got myself into
I have so much (curse word) snow to shovel,
I think I'm gonna drown - that's the way that the world goes 'round

Words of John Prine and I.

John Prine - Milwaukee

The Marcus Center For The Performing Arts - Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Friday, March 9th, 2012
John Prine

Smucksville, this is one concert I wish I could see.  However, my time is just around the corner.  Two months from today, I leave for Vancouver to Prine on May 5th.

In Milwaukee, I hope John plays - Diamonds in the Rough.  I think that would be a very special song for Tom Reynolds (Crusher).  I was singing that song this morning when I was outside shovelling that white stuff.  My word, we have a ton of white stuff to shovel today.  I had to break and sit a spell.

Must have been quite the Prine concert last night in Hershey - Sue Umbrella was so excited in her posts of last night and this morning.  The shy lass even managed to yell out a request and in Prine style, he played it.

John Prine - Hershey, PA

Tonight, is where Sue Umbrella will be.  (for more information and to view a great picture of John Prine, Jason Wilber, and David Jacques  - visit - http://www.hersheytheatre.com/performances_events/details.php?id+12646

~they changed the photo, but you get my Prine drift, can you feel the Prine drift.  .  .  .

I do not believe I have saw so many creative posts about the countdown to John Prine on facebook as I have had with Sue Umbrella.  The young lass is very creative.

I have (along with Brett and Janis Ferguson from Winnipeg, Manitoba) 62 more days to go to see John Prine in Vancouver, B.C.  I never dreamed in my wildest dreams (believe me, I dream big time), thought I would see John Prine again let alone meet a friend and her husband.

As mentioned in a previous post John Prine is now well on the side of age 50.  Oops, now was that 60 - ah, I would like to post that it makes no matter, but it does.  We all know and recognize age is upon us.  I am thankful to be able to see the Singer/Songwriter, John Prine;  once again in Vancouver.

I am thankful for much in my life.  I have a roof over my head, a freezer full of food, a pantry - Martha would love.  I can cooked, I have the love of family, and they all understand - Gramma Shaw, Aunty Bev, oh that sister of mine - last but not, my Noisemaker - she Prines'.

John Prine - Blue Umbrella

I think Najee, Brett, and I will need a blue umbrella when we - you know - attend John Prine -
Vancouver, May 5th 2012.  It rains mega in Vancouver.

...blue umbrella rest upon my shoulders; hide the pain while the rain makes up my mind - John Prine.

John Prine - Vancouver - The Centre For The Performing Arts

Oh, my can you imagine - once again, I will pound the pavement, troop on up to see John Prine here at the Centre For the Performing Arts - Homer Street - Vancouver.  I do hope this time John Prine does receive a full blown poster, he did not have that in 2009.  2009 was humming with the 2010 Olympics.  May 5th, 2012 will be for me, Janis and Brett Ferguson - humming John Prine!
