The Birds Of A Feather. . .

The Birds Of Feather have flocked on in - they gathered together somewhere in Southern California and I have no idea who took the photo - but, many Thanks.  In photo - Michael, Brett, Janis, and Trudy.

It's the Hendricks/the Ferguson Birds!

Derek Sanderson - Crossing The Line

oh teehee, I actually made this picture bigger, because many times Derek would skate up near the boards and it would be a blur. . .locks of hair - and as noted in the picture - eyes on the puck.

I am very pleased, so far, with reading Crossing The Line - I knew I would be.  Derek Sanderson with Kevin Shea writes not only about Dereks' years in the NHL (et al), but mentions Dereks' country, Canada - several times.  That makes me proud, I have such good company at my kitchen table.

I was pleased to read (and giggle) - they write a line on Neil Young on page 164.  It is in reference to Scott Young (Neil's father).  Also, Linda Ronstadt is mentioned along with several women in Dereks' past.  Yes, he did lead a very fast life, on the ice and off the ice.

Way To Go, Derek!

Derek Sanderson - Crossing The Line

I have started in on the book Crossing The Line - Derek Sanderson with Kevin Shea.  Good grief and holy smucksville, I am glad that Derek is still among us living folks.

Not certain where the book is taking me; I do know Derek has found a new paved road to travel.  I understand there is a movie (based on the book) in the works - Turk!  I am happy for you, Derek.

I only wish that when he had his spell with the Vancouver Canucks I could have got him in a corner and received an autograph.

Derek, he was a great hockey player.  What he writes in the book of his hockey skills all come from the training he received from his Dad and that started at a very young age.

I know there is a heavy hit coming in the book, I can sense the slide into it - it is a heavy check where he did cross the line.

Neil Young ~ Waging Heavy Peace

I have completed reading the bible of Neil - Waging Heavy Peace - Neil Young.  It was a very enjoyable read; at times I giggled and at times I was brought to tears.

The writings are sometimes at bit scattered but that is Neil - he is a bit on the side of scattered.  Throughout the book it is evident the love Neil has for his wife Pegi, his children, his friends, and his dogs.  He writes many accolades for other musicians he has worked with; very kind words he writes about Linda Ronstadt.

Each day when I would open the bible up to read, honestly it felt like I was sitting at the kitchen table and across from me is Neil.  Near the end of the book Neil writes about one of my favorite Neil songs - Will To Love.  I sing that song quite often when I walk to the creek to see the fish.  (Somehow, Will To Love gets strung in with Fish and Whistle by John Prine - followed by a giggle).  I could relate to the words Neil wrote about being in the forest, the animals - the peace.

After I read the final page, I put on my coat and walked outside to peace.  I returned about a half hour later, placed the cover jacket on the bible, and said - come join me soon Neil - I liked you being at my kitchen table.

Luke Bryan

ah, Luke.

This morning, my noisemaker went to town - he left the television on.  I am not a television watcher, but I thought - oh eh, I turned to the CMT station - maybe I can hear some Luke.  I said, play some Luke for me.

I walked to the kitchen - my word, before I even got the tap turned on - there is Luke.  I moved quickly to get the sound up.  Oh, Luke Luke Luke, I said and giggled.

I stood there, waving - I wave (the shoulder wave) when I am in happy heart mode, this mode was a happy heart mode.  My word, Luke - he can dance - he swings on like a young Bruce!

The video I watched was Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye, I did the Luke.  I love the Luke ~ I do, I love to giggle and dance!

Paradise Wave to you, Luke!

Good Day For Bargains

WOW - can't believe how much I saved today using coupons and loyality cards!  Just over $90.00!  That is the best I have done.  For anyone that believes utilizing coupons does not add up - think again.

I had a coupon for Chapmans Ice Cream for $5.00.  The Blueberry/Cheesecake was on for $5.99 (two litre), I purchased it for $.99.  Chapmans Ice Cream is a treat for my Noisemaker and I.  Couponville was endless today.  I know the cashiers do not like customers using coupons (you can see them pout and tsk), but that is not my problem and I do not care.  I live on a budget and if I can purchase a product (on sale) with a coupon - those are dollars saved in my pocket.  As the cashier commented to me today, thank you for highlighting the expiration date, etc., I appreciate that.  I replied, I appreciate the savings!

While at the grocery store today, I had to wait for Noisemaker.  When I have to wait for him, I visit the magazine aisle.  Oh good lord, Rolling Stone was there...I was delighted; there is mega Bruce, Neil Young, but no John Prine.  I stood there in the aisle amazed at Bruce - talking out loud - oh Bruce ~ turned the page Oh good lord, here is Neil ~ flipped through the pages, no John Prine.  I continued to talk aloud - I told John that is okay, no problem, then I giggled.

Remembered this morning when I went to the porch with my cleats on I tap danced singing Prine, ah - just for Reeda.  She danced her feet off in her early years, danced at Bev's Dancing School - if I remember correctly.  My cleats do not click, tap, or ting like tap dancing shoes - it is just good fun, a good giggle, and a chance to sing Prine.

Extremely happy how this photo turned out, the first snap you take - is always the best snap.

John Prine sings of a heart shaped like a valentine - I photo/ed - a leaf shaped like a valentine.  It is all love.
