The Wedding

My brother, my nephew, and my sister-in-law ~ walking down the aisle of love.
The newlyweds.
Oh, the glory of true love (John Prine).

John Prine - It Was A Prine Friday Night

A very blurred picture of my brother, Wesley (the retired letter carrier).

My word, did we Prine.  We sang Paradise numerous times.  When my nephew came over he says, eh guys - that sounds really good.  We sang Saunders Ferry Lane, that was great...then back to Paradise we went.  We sang many a Prine tune.

It was such a special time.  A time for a brother and a sister to sing.  Geez, I treasure every moment of it.

Upon arriving back home, Wesley calls to me.  He says - oh eh, Bev wasn't that great on Friday night - you, me, Paradise and Prine.  For sure it was very special, it was golden.

Oh For The Love Of...

Smucksville, I am ever so tired and spent of hobbling around, I have another four/five weeks to do so.

I did have crutches.  One fall, two misses.  I now have a wheelchair - unfortunately it is too big for the abode, so I am still utilizing the steno chair to get from point A to point B.  Oh god, I am thankful just to be able to move.

Yeppers, I sit on the porch and swing my feet around like I am foot double dutching.  I switch to up and downs, then sideways.  I am trying to keep the feet mobile, keep circulation, and exercise.

I have made myself a promise.  When I heal up and am able to be feet bound again...I am not going to sit still.  Stillness in not part of me and I am not going to friends with it ever.

Off to Prine - oh my south of the border friends will be Prineing in Minnesota this coming weekend.  I will be thinking of them.  Such a very special time it will for them all.  They meet for drinks and appetizers - then they Prine.  How lucky can some folks get. . .

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

To all the Joe and Mary Six Packs out there - may you and yours have a safe, happy Labor Day Weekend.

To those who fought to give workers what they have today, thank you.

Thanks, Dad.

Big Ouch!

Oh, yet again another big ouch has come into my life.  I was out walking on Sunday morning and I slipped upon a small piece of rounded wood.  My foot went one way and my shoe/clog went the other way.  I could still walk and plodded on with my usual day.

Monday morning was quite a different story.  The foot had swollen up and it was bruised.  It does not hurt, it is only a huge - oh god you p*ss me off badly - time.

I will go into town for a xray on Saturday.  My noisemaker has to go into the hospital for his regular PSA test so I will tag along and get a xray done to see how much damage was done.

Needless to say, dancing is not on my agenda.  Smucksville it best mend on up soon because dancing is on my agenda September 19th - my nephew is wedding up!  Nothing finer than kicking up my heels and doing some Prine with my retired letter carrier brother!
