Happy Birthday, My Little Boy

My 'little' boy would be 21 years old today - Happy Birthday, Yankee. Geez, I miss him. I can still smell his beautiful coat and I much would like to hug and kiss him.

I recall; yikers - menopausal at the time - in my orb of crying fits, Yankee - he would come and lick the tears from my cheeks.

The Happy Birthday Song - that was his favorite! He would sing along right (or left) with me. I sang that song to him all the time, I knew someone, somewhere was having a birthday!

Yankee, left Noisemaker and I on June 28th - such a sad day it was. Noisemaker and I were not in a good way - he had lost his job; had one mega debt to the taxation company of Canada - we were sort of left with - sell everything. That is when we came here - to the mountain side. I have probably posted all this before...but as we all know...

...Memories they can't be boughten
Can't be won at a carnival for free
It took me years - to get those Souveniers...

Oh My. . .

Yesterday morning, I was up and about doing what I do - cleaning up, thinkin', Prinein', and along came Spring.
I saw Spring come off the snow bank and rushed to see what I had in the fridge. I was doing the babble at noisemaker, trying to direct him as to what new offspring had arrived. I got the weiner for him {the fox - not noisemaker - (yes, it is a male fox)}, grabbed the camera and as quick as my slipper feet could travel, to the deck I went.
By that time, Spring is off into the woods, but I call to him - Honey Bunny come back, come back. I have food for you. He comes back. Here is he ~ Spring.

Pyrex, Prine and Wish I Had A Pint!

As most of you know, I fancy pants the music of John Prine. I also fancy Pyrex and I have been known to fancy a pint or two. . .

I have been thinking, if John Prine was a woman - he would fancy pants Pyrex.

That is Prine lyric material - Pyrex and Prine. *major giggle*

Supermoon moving on in tonight. Noisemaker is peaceful - so far.

I love the mountain side, but the winter is so long. We get near six months of winter here; and I tire of it. I must pray to the god/goddess of lotto. I cannot understand why those gods can't get it together, stop the snow and rain me in on lotto. It is not as if I am not close enough to them, I am way up there in elevation - mountain side - not true height.

Height wise, well - I am challenged, I struggled to reach the top shelf in any grocery store. No different from people that cannot reach the bottom shelf.

Nearing the day of the Irish

St. Pats' Day came a day early here on the mountain side - we do not clearly have a grip on time. . .

Actually, it is bingo night tonight and I do baking for the bingo, this my contribution. I saved some for noisemaker and I ~ and my, are they good. So moist and all the cute little sugars and sprinkles.

My great neighbor, Chris has caused me nothing but endless grief yesterday and today. I swear with that supermoon coming in on the 19th ~ well, I think everyone is going on the side of wacko. That governor of Wisconsin - he is already there!

Spring, truly is - ...just a smile away...

Happy Birthday, Dad

My Dad would have been 91 today! Happy Birthday, Dad.

Instrumental my Father was forming the United Association of Plumbers, Pipefitters Local 238 - Prince George - British Columbia. Unfortunately, UA170 - Vancouver came and dismantled 238. I think my Dad always held a knife to the heart of 170 for their actions. He waited his day...and it did arrive.

I think he got so p*ssed off at 170 because of no work, he had name requests which were not honored. That proud Tuesday I have in my mind, when he struck his own union.

He was fined for his actions. After his death, I requested from the UA International - his transcript - I received via registered mail. I still smile. I am warmed by his strong determination, his will to see that people should not be taken advantage of by government nor by unions.

Unions, in the past years have been a good thing. I think if one looks clearly into the on-goings of any executive member, a person holding a union representative position - you will find much of the dues that is paid by hard working, in the good standing membership folk has gone directly into the silk lined pockets of the executives.

Do not get me wrong here ~ in the state of Wisconsin and the on-goings - well, that Wacko governor has made my Dad roll in his grave (mega). My Dad near not roll anymore - only a gently rock, sing a lullaby.

I am off for a walk - got my kleenex. I miss you very much, Dad ~ I miss our political conversations.

I miss you.

The God Of Snow

The other day, after the morning shovel of the white stuff, I came back down to the steps of our home to sit a spell. I looked over towards the garden shed and saw this face looking back at me.

Can you see the face in the snow - to the side of the shed - two eyes, a nose, and smiling lips?

I took it as an omen - ...spring is just a smile away... ~ John Prine.

This morning a Mother moose with her one/two year old came to visit us. They were served saskatoon and willow branches. They gave their thanks with leaving us those special little brown pebbles(?)...

The earthquake in Japan - I feel for the people of Japan.

Mother Earth speaks to us, I wish the entire world would listen.

Wisconsin - Ruth Ann Ogg Peacock

What is happening in your states, only elevates my blood pressure. I saw this coming some years ago when my Dads' UA Pension decrease. The money is gone.
Everything I invested is now gone.
What funds one had in a pension plan now is gone the way of the dodo bird.
I wish all the folks in the great States of United - The USA - well.
RuthAnn, Wisconsin - please continue with your protests. Protest/Prine On!

Welcome, Lori

Oh look, I have another follower - Welcome Lori.

Lori, I am acquainted with through another website. She is an expert at finding bargains/free stuff. If you link up to her blog you will find her latest catch was Johnsonville! That is like holy smucksville to me - I love Johnsonville anything. However, because I reside in Canada so much I cannot participate in. Lori resides in Michigan - You Prine friends south of my border - do the LUL - Link Up Lori.

Spring is arriving swiftly on the mountain side, I am delighted! Snow is melting and if I call John, I am certain he will give me a date to when it all turns to water. Or perhaps, he will just ask me for a date - hahaha (mega)!

Birthday Greetings

Happy Birthday Sue!
In re-reading my posts, I can sensed how down I have been, cabin fever I have.
I walk the path sometimes 4/5/6 times a day and walking is good but it does not give you the interaction with people - the ability to vocalize, to communicate.
I am so thankful for internet technology - even on dial up. Slow, as it is; the ability to communicate can and is done!
...so don't get down on yourself
no and don't lose your faith
believe these words that I'm singin' of
for just as sure as the day that you were born
somewhere someones' fallin' in love...

The Three Pees

Palmer, Prine and Pryex!

An acquaintantenette of mine, Donna Laurent Palmer will be in Huntsville, Alabama tonight to see John Prine. Oh, the lucky laurette!
I received my new Pyrex baking dish - oh - I love Pyrex. It is the next best the to sliced bread and John Prine!
We were in the village today, to do some grocery shopping. The mountain side has been busy. We have our seasonal neighbor here; happy days - I can see his lights on in the hours of darkness - love that! Yesterday afternoon, some poor drugged up, medicated up, drunked up woman drove into the snowbank. I did go up to help as did my seasonal neighbor - but there was not much I could do. The woman was so far gone, she could not make it out of her vehicle. Once her vehicle was pulled from the snowbank, she merrily sped off on her way. Not a thank you or a kiss my ass goodbye. Frustrating, it can be - living here.
I, do try to be on the side of positive; I walk some now - I have heavy duty cleats. We have had alerts for cougar activity, but as long as I sing outside - I have faith in myself, I will be just Prine fine.
Five years so far on the side of the mountain - I cannot believe I made five years here. I do not have a strong marriage ~ I have a Noisemaker. My Noisemaker, geez - the marbles shooting around in his brain are getting non shootsville. Smucksville.
I, do try to make the best of a sad, fallen situation - that is why I Prine!
