Bundt Cakes

Here are pictures of the bundt cakes I have recently made.

Triple Chocolate Fudge Bundt Cake

I made this for our communitys' annual fall dinner.  Cake is done in a Nordic Ware Heritage Bundt pan.  Cake is made with Duncan Hines Chocolate Fudge cake mix, chocolate pudding, and chocolate chips ~ truly for chocolate lovers.

Lemon Blueberry Bundt Cake

Also made in a Nordic Ware Heritage Bundt pan.  Made from scratch and not cheap to make :)
Fresh blueberries and the hint of lemon make this cake perfect for any occasion.  I made it for ourselves, our seasonal neighbor - Bob, and our friend Gary B.  Gary B., neighbor Bob - well, geez, their eyes lit open when they saw this cake - not sure how they liked it (I have not lip flapped with them since they received it).  Noisemaker seems to really enjoy it - but then he is a blueberry - lemon kind of Noisemaker.

John Prine - Nashville

Photo - Thank you - Charlene

John Prine - Nashville (ah, don't you wish).  I certainly do.  It is on my bucket list to see John Prine in Nashville ~ I hope for the best.  Well, eh the best would be the mountain side.  Good grief - as I laugh out loud!

Could you imagine, some rather heavy set fellow walking down the drive ~ I would be out there in a flash - asking the question - can I help you?  You need help, are you lost...

{Major laughing} ~ to be continued. . .

Oh, look at those boots and guitars.

This is what folks are going to see tonight and tomorrow night in Nashville.  If there is one place I would love to see John Prine perform it would be in Nashville (The Ryman).  I will one day visit Nashville - you know that day when I win the lotto!  I dream big!

Great picture of John Prine (thank you RuthAnn).

Luke Bryan

190 days until an acquaintance of mine, Jessica gets to view, swoon, and listen to the music of John Prine and Luke Bryan.

She is in for one special day.  Honestly, when I think of her seeing John and Luke on the same day - well, truly, it is a smucksville kind of thing.

Indio - the city of festivals.

Homegrown Tomatoes - the end. . .

ah, the end is nearing, the leaves are falling
my salsa recipe is calling. . .

A bountiful crop of homegrown tomatoes I have received this year - five tomato plants were grown from seed.  Can I say, I am proud!

Cherokee Purple, delicious.  Brandywine and Beefsteak - tomatoesville delight!

Salsa making tomorrow.  Never have I made fresh salsa before - and never have I found a recipe to be able to freeze.

There is nothing like a homegrown tomato.  You pick, you eat - you sing - Paradise, John Prine!

I am enjoying these moments on the mountain side - they are tomato special!

Homegrown Tomatoes

Cherokee Purple - I grew from seed, amazing - isn't it.  I keep thinking of the song by Guy Clark - Homegrown Tomatoes.

...what'd life be without homegrown tomatoes
only two things that money can't buy
that's true love and homegrown tomatoes...
Guy Clark

Also, a Cherokee Purple - but a Heart Cherokee Purple.

...love has no mind
it can't spell unkind
it's never seen a heart shaped like a valentine...
John Prine

...love has no mind
it can't spell unkind
it's never seen a heart shaped like a tomato
a homegrown tomato...
homegrown tomatoes
nothin' is finer that Clark and Prine
and homegrown tomatoes
yours truly

The Heron

Look close - you will not find Rusty but you will see a Heron.

The heron was there for hours, playing with ducks - resting/eating fish.

This is jigsaw puzzle material - giggle, giggle.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Birthday Greetings ~ John Prine

67 Birthday Balloons to John Prine.

When sending birthday greetings, I generally like to write:
Cheers, Beers, and Prine.  That will not work well today.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I'm laughing like hell
Because I'm younger than you

Pot Scrubbers

Recently, I have came upon two new pot scrubbers.  The above, is made is Poland and works very well on pots - everything inside and out.
This one does the same, only leans more towards the happier side of life.

Thank you - Naj - for the later.

Spookarockarilla!

Yikers, a rock I found today - eerie!  Just in time for the month of Halloween!

On the mountain side, all the vegetables have been taken care of.  A nice crop of beets, potatoes, carrots - just enough for the Noisemaker and I.

Still tending to the tomatoes; they are indoors now.  Turning red and if all goes well, a big - huge salsa recipe will be in order.  Many of the tomatoes suffered from blossom rot - still unsure what actually happened, but the investigation carries on.

On the note of side; yesterday - eight years ago was the day my hero, died.  My Dad.

I was out and about in the yard, my Noisemaker begons me...phone, Bev, phone.  Oh happy days it is my retired postman brother.  Oh and oops, I think he has had a few, but no matter to hear his voice - to lip flap about John Prine - good grief, and laugh/giggle - it is great!  I love him very much.

My brother and I were born in the same year, a special year 1955.  He was born in January, I came along in December.

We are family, we Prine.
