A week from today, I will be heading back home to the mountan side after spending a fine Prine weekend with Naj/Brett Ferguson.
I am looking forward to Kendel Carson (see www.kendelcarson.com), folks posted she plays a mighty mean fiddle.
I do hope my Noisemaker does not get to lonely without me; he will have no one to babble to - but himself and the tv. He will be fine, I do not worry about him at all.
Yes, Naj, at the Naj Mahal - finally we are going to meet. I cannot think of a better way to meet than that of attending a John Prine concert. It is going to be a very special time in my life, a time I will Prine and remember always.

John Prine - Vancouver
Oh my, can you believe it - one week from today, I will be consumed in the John Prine force. No, no, no, we are not going to war, we are Prineing! Prineing in the best Prine way. I am so excited.
I never thought John Prine would tour again in Canada (British Columbia), this could well be his last dance - oh, smucksville, if I meet up with him perhaps I should ask him to dough-see-dough with me. Well, what do you think? I have cookies baked up (lord, I hope I do not forget them) - I could trade cookies for a dough-see-dough - *major giggle*.
Naj/Brett and I would have met by now, perhaps had our Japa Dogs, Chinese Food, McDonalds, maybe some cream puffs, and I know, for sure - a lot of giggles.
I went to the mountain side beauty parlor today (lol)...I needed to get my locks trimmed. She took 4" + off, I am a light weight now.
I must start making my piles of stuffola for Vancouver, into one big pile. I gotta start packing soon. I am thrilled, beyond excited to have the opportunity to see John Prine again. It will be a treasure chest of memories I will take back home with me. I will keep them safe, in my mind, my heart ~ forever ~ it's golden.

John Prine - Vancouver Here I Come
Vancouver Here I Come
I'm gonna get on the old Greyhound and I'm gonna ride
Take the dirt road right down the mountain side
The Skunkeyes will join me and John Prine we will see
Vancouver here I come from the mountain side, B.C.
Vancouver is where I was before I came here
Working for a card company, tryin' to make everyone sincere
One early Saturday morning, the telephone it did ring
Skunk said, John Prine - Vancouver, BC - he will sing
I'm gonna get on the old Greyhound and I'm gonna ride
Take the dirt road right down the mountain side
The Skunkeyes will join me and John Prine we will see
Vancouver here I come from the mountain side, B.C.
John Prine - In Person And On Stage - oh my I can't miss this
I baked cookies for Jason, John, and that one that is a miss
David Jacques, the bass player - that is who I am looking for
But John Prine would be a bonus, behind that old green door
I'm gonna get on the old Greyhound and I'm gonna ride
Take the dirt road right down the mountain side
The Skunkeyes will join me and John Prine we will see
Vancouver here I come from the mountain side, B.C.

John Prine - Vancouver - 2012-05-05
Just to warn you folks - from now on in - there will be several posts in regards to John Prine - Vancouver - 2012-05-05.
To start, I will have Noisemaker ride me into the village (at 3 a.m. in the morning) to catch the Greyhound. I will ride down the mountain side in hopes that I have not forgotten anything at home. Once on the Greyhound, I will try to rest - I have a big day ahead of me. (oh teehee, I'll just sit on that Greyhound with my cd player thingy, play Prine, Springsteen, Young (Gnarls Barkley and some golden oldies thrown in) and giggle.
It will be such a special time for me. I never thought I would see John Prine again - let alone be seeing him and meeting new Prine friends. None of us are getting any younger - sad - but so true. I wonder if this will be the last time I will see John Prine. I wondered that in 2009 and here I am, 2012 - John Prine. I do know, my luck won't last.
I will make this the best first weekend in May I ever had. I must keep in my mind when I get off the Greyhound and hail a taxi - to tell him - Blue Umbrella, please. That is not the name of not of the hotel, but I would like to see the expression on his/her face. I'll get in the taxi and Prine forth.
Naj and Brett Ferguson will have already arrived - holy smucksville can you imagine. I have yapped with Naj for a number of years, and then - viola - here we are - In Person And On Stage - in front of the Blue Umbrella!

John Prine - Vancouver - hmm...
Oh, geez, I wonder who these maybe for. . .
Let's see three bags - one bag is roses, one bag is bees, and one bag is lips. Inside there are cookies, chocolate chunk cookies. You all best put on your thinking caps to figure this one out - lol.
The mountain side suffered great rain and high winds yesterday. Blew my cow heart right off the wood shed wall and sent it over to my neighbors' yard. Lydia, she is soaked - I was thinking to get her a raincoat. I was very surprised she did not topple over (so was Noisemaker).
In one weeks time, I shall be on the Greyhound coming down from the mountain side to Vancouver. So exciting it is - meeting Janis and Brett Ferguson and of course, seeing John Prine. How lucky can one mountain girl get. . . .

John Prine - Montclair
Thank You - Sue - great photo.
I see she was able to get David Jacques to sign. Oh my, that man to me - well, I cannot ever find him. 2005 in Vancouver - I asked Jason where he might be located, Jason replied - at a bar up the street. eh, right - I am not walking anywhere in the streets of Vancouver, alone. It was all I could do to cross the street and meet - oh yes, who was that man I went to see...John Prine.
2009, I saw David on stage but I could not locate him outside, you know behind the 'green' door. teehee. I did get my picture taken with him and Jason, but I did not have the Hatch print.
This time, I am on a mission - David Jacques - I am coming to find you. I need your autograph to complete my Hatch Print.
Perhaps, I should bring a few Prine incidentals. Imagine, walking down the streets of Vancouver and - oops, oh lord, I stumble right into John Prine. If you knew how my two left feet do not work right...well...it could happen.
I do wonder if Ben will be there. Ben will, he is always there. Ben, Prines' well, he works at the post office.
Prine - 10 more days + 1 wake up - Vancouver!

John Prine - Montclair
Three Generations attending Montclair, NJ - John Prine.
Sue Ronis, her Mom, and as you can see from the photo, another Prine fan in waiting. Due October 26 - or so. .. . if she is lucky it'll pop out early and be born on the 10th. Good Luck Sue.
I wish you love - I wish you happiness (All The Best - John Prine)
John Prine - Montclair, NJ
Sue Ronis and John Prine - thank you for the photo, Sue.
Sue had made a sign - You Got Gold. John Prine had his sharpie ready to strike. Sue's moment indeed.
I hope that big man in the middle of the picture isn't in Vancouver. No offensive there, Charlie, but geez, you are a big fellow. You could flatten me and I am near the side of frail as it is. I could likely Paradise Wave at you and you would not see it. You would probably think I was dusting off your footwear - hahaha!
I was very happy for Sue and her Mom. It was her Mom's first John Prine concert. Three generations of Prine attended Montclair. Mom, Sue, and baby due in October. Congratulations Sue.
Suncatchers
My suncatchers.
I have them located in the little flower garden. Hung up on a poplar branch which I got when building Lydia. I love the lil bit of a scarecrow hanging opposite. Above the scarecrow is a bird, can you see it? I have a wild yard, I have heart rocks, wing nuts, and Lydia. It is certainly a one of kind yard. I have my pots done, but cannot plant just yet - the nights are still on the side of cool. I have vegetables growing in pots on the kitchen table. Holy Smucksville, the sunflowers are 6" high, cucumbers are doing very well as are the peppers.
I was doing a bit of weeding in the flower garden today, oh for the love of god, I came across a worm. Good grief - I told myself calm down, it is a worm - a worm is something you are bigger than, you do not need to run. Stay put and that is what I did, but you know I just could not help myself in flicking that worm elsewhere...I did say bye bye wormy worm.
Then, I sent myself up roadway and took to raking. Thinking perhaps I could plant a few flowers up that way. My word, I am raking a mighty big rock. It is approximately 10 feet by about 8 feet and I do not know how deep it is. I suspect it launched in a millions of years ago, when the volcano hit. I made Noisemaker come out to look at it, he could not believe what I had unearthed, and said Bev - you best just let it be, do not be digging that up - we would have to hire a crane. I left well enough alone, smiled at my Lydia and came to sit a spell.
Lydia - 2012 Debut
Lydia 2012
Is not she dazzling - look at those beautiful blue eyes and Prine fluttering eye lashes. Donald will be overwhelmed and taken by the fine beauty of Lydia this year. She sports a flannel plaid shirt with knee holed levis. The white hankerchief, white belt, and white scarf accent her ensemble.
After Lydia came out of the make up department today, oh my, I laughed so hard with Lydia (and at her), but we had a great time.
Oh yes, in the top picture hanging from Lydia's hand is the blue Prine suncatcher, it matches her denims. I hope she withstands the wind this year, but generally speaking Donald will come to visit and she'll be flat on her back.
Oh, Lydia - you are just too funny - but I luv ya!

The Creek
The Creek - shade side
The Creek - on the sunny side
Keep on the sunny side
Always on the sunny side
Keep on the sunny side of life
Ada Blenkhom - 1899
and now I am off to the sunny side.
Lydia - The Construction
Lydia - is not just she darlin' shapely this year! Lydia is constructed of the finest dead poplar I could find, safely cut down and haul. Her body and arms are connected with string and a final layer of duct tape. Lydia is going to be in excellent shape this year.
In case you are wondering where her head is, well it is currently in the make up department. Lydia will come out beautiful and once again be waiting for her Donald.
Lydia hid her thoughts like a cat
Behind her small eyes sunk deep in her fat
She read romance magazines up in her room
Felt just like Sunday on Saturday afternoon
Donald and Lydia ~ John Prine
Kendel Carson

I look forward to hearing her. Good grief, so exciting it is. My word if it is not porch time it's pee time (giggle, giggle).

Don't you just love it when you see a Prine picture that contains his feet. You notice in this photo how John is toe tappin'. Do not miss his fine footwear, love the footwear - he has very good taste in footwear!
Reeda took this photo at a recent concert in Champaign, IL. From all the posts everyone had a fine Prine time. It is Prine pleasant to read all the posts, see all the photos after everyone returns home from the Prine concert.

John Prine - Champaign, IL
I am quite certain all my Prine acquaintances are near flocking into Champaign. What a special Prine time it is going to be. Of course, not quite as special as my Prine Vancouver, but special just the same. I do wish someday, I could meet all my Prine friends and if I win lotto perhaps we would have John come and play on the mountain side. I'd hire up a bus and bring all the southern folks up to the mountain side. Geez, could you imagine.
I'm sure there will be some fine pictures coming in from Prine - Champaign/Champrine. They are in for one fine evening of Prine. I'll be flocking in shortly after Prine/Jacques/Wilber go on stage - watch for me...I'll be the lil bit of a bird near John's right shoulder. If he tries to flick me off, give a big huge hand clap so as I could here you up north.
Prine at will, folks. Cheers, Beers, and Prine!

Most enjoyable afternoon spent with my lady friends at our ladies luncheon. Lip flappin was working overtime and no one was getting paid double time. I did my best at the promotion of Prine, but once again...it is John Who...I always say oh no not John Who, it is John Prine - (giggle, giggle).
Several ladies commented when I told of my upcoming events, how I, once again, I will travel down the mountain side to see John Prine (John Who). They are taken on how people meet on line - and then go to a concert. I replied, well it is a John Who, thing. You have a common interest (ours is John Prine and our friendship) and you go for it. I explained how Janis and I spoke in order to get the tickets, told of the Saturday morning conversation, and now we will meet on May 4th, 2012. We Prine May 5th. teehee.
oh yes, my Angel Food cake with the lemon glaze was well received at the luncheon. I was able to bring a slice home for the noisemaker. There were 14 women in attendance at the luncheon ....they do not bake. :)

Luke Bryan
Good heavenly days folks, this Luke Bryan fellow must be a very special man. The traffic one post generated here, unbelievable. I only wish I knew more of his music. I heard that one song two times, loved it - reminded me so much of myself (in my younger years). You can visit Luke Bryan webpage, here - www.lukebryan.com

The Goddess of Prine
Way too far off funny. I was outside early this morning, a beautiful day indeed. The sunshine is warm, a great Easter Sunday. I wear my cleats still on my boots, because there is still freezing temperatures at night. The geese were flying by - Happy Easter Geese. Happy Easter my four legged love, Happy Easter Everyone! Then Prine mode comes....
I looked at the big snow bank, thought to myself, I am going to try and walk this. It Worked! I was a goddess of Prine singing Paradise. I flung my arms up wide like the picture everyone remembers from Titanic. I said, jesus - I am a goddess, I can walk on water. Frozen water that is; but it works. I started to sing Paradise; confusion sets in with the Missing Years...what do you want to be when you grow up...jesus said god.
I said - holy smucksville I am the goddess of Prine, I am walking on water, continue to sing Prine; when suddenly I noticed my seasonal neighbor walking down the street. She says to me, we can hear you singing. I replied, that is a John Prine song...her reply John Who, I said, oh no - not John Who - his name is John Prine.

The Rock
I found a new rock yesterday, sitting right in the dirt - ready for pickin'. Isn't it beautiful. Size is approximately 1 1/2" x 1 1/2", I do hope it is an omen. My Noisemaker was even taken by it; once again he tells me, I should build you a rock polisher. Yeppers, Noisemaker you should!
The Rock - hahaha - Dwayne Johnson - my rock would beat you anytime ;)

Spring Has Arrived
Pussywillows, spring has arrived.
It is a beautiful day outside, the birds are all in a flutter and I am too...only 29 more wake ups to John Prine. 28 to meet Janis/Brett Ferguson.
Spring is one of my favorite seasons, everything comes a new. I can plant a lil bit of a garden. This year, I am starting inside as we have a very short season of summer. I am going to plant, tomatoes, green peppers, onions, carrots, and a variety of herbs. Stupice tomatoes are the best, such big flavor - they work great in a homemade salsa. I purchased the tomato plants from Mr. Tom Ato, he lives about 15 miles up the road.
Easter weekend, so lots of seasonal folks are arriving on the mountain side. Across the creek there are two young boys - ah, they have such fun. They are very creative and never seem to disturb nature. I heard them out there this morning, they were in the creek...one boy says - it is very cold in here, I laughed.
In celebration of Easter, may you all have a roof over your head, food on your table, and the kindness of friends. Happy Easter to you and yours.

One month from today it will be our (Janis/Brett Ferguson and myself) turn to Prine. Good lord, I get so excited just thinking about it. I never dreamed I would be able to meet Janis and Brett let alone be Prineing with them. Oh yes, and for that matter Japa Dogging with them!

Malcolm Holcombe
Shines, Neil Indeed.
A Prine acquaintance tuned me into Malcolm Holcombe (see more at www.malcolmholcombe.com).
The acquaintance of Prine was Chad Dunn. Thank you. Chad has met Malcolm a few times, a special moment in time for Chad.
I enjoy the music of Malcolm Holcombe - he is not Neil Young, he is not John Prine, he is Malcolm Holcombe.

John Prine - Blue Tie
Photo - Thank You - Reeda Buresh - www.jpshrine.org ~ A very nice picture indeed!
I believe when Janis/Brett Ferguson and I attend the concert in Vancouver - May 5th, 2012 we stay at the Blue Umbrella (lol). I once did have a Blue Umbrella when I lived down there. It blew away, all I had left was the handle.
How exciting it is going to be. Wow Prinesville - Wow Smucksville - take your pick!

Another Prine friend of mine also raves about Malcolm Holcombe - his name is Chad Dunn. He will be surprised whenever he arrives here to view this blog and sees I have a new picture of Malcolm.
Kari stated in her post; it was the best date she had ever had, she was with her husband and seeing Malcolm in a small, quaint venue. Malcolm's words and music - near paradise.

You Never Can Tell
The other night I was listening to CBC radio, a program titled Vinyl Tap hosted by Randy Bachman (Bachman Turner Overdrive). The program was about songs that cross over from country to rock/rock to country.
Generally speaking I rarely hear any songs by John Prine on the radio let alone hear his name. Well, giggle giggle - Randy starts talking about the song You Never Can Tell - says several people have recorded it; John Prine. I was thrilled to hear those words. I figured for sure he would play it by John Prine; but he did not - he played it by Emmy Lou Harris and a version by Chuck Berry.
Only 33 more wake ups before the John Prine concert in Vancouver. I was chatting with my brother yesterday, he is so happy for me that I get to see John Prine again. As he says...it goes to show you never can tell.
