Happy New Year

All The Best to each and everyone one of you. I wish for you, nothing but the best. teehee, my Dad always said that...nothing but the best.
I was advised today, my dear friend of 86 years of age, has been struck with dementia - brought me to tears. My Mother, had dementia. They were great girlfriends. Sad, it is.
On the side of a lighter note; Happy New Year to everyone. We do not do much on the side of celebrations, we cannot stay up that late.
Thank you for all that come to read my simple blog. I enjoy writing and I am thankful for those who read it.

Oh My....

I think I best change up some colors here; that 'blue' is rather bright. I have preference to calmer, paler colors - oh yet, but wait - I want to blast up a few notches. Perhaps go to where Linda's goes - Mars.

teehee, not in your life. I simply will color up the blog, accordingly.

oh but then, again...I do have so many options....

Can one woman make up her mind? hmm...any body got a coin out there? Flip It!

Florida John

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FLORIDA JOHN! Cheers and Beers!

I have been struggling, somewhat on the mountain side - frustration for me, abounds! I believe the new Nikon we purchased, is not dial up friendly - (nothing is). It does take good pictures, however, when you want to share -- holy smucksville. I could be waiting to upload like I could be waiting for a playtex bra to upload my breasts. A very long time.

I have contacted Nikon, did not really tell me anything I did not know. However, the young man I spoke with did speak good English, I was glad for that.

It is so hard living here; it is just frustrating. Like having to return Christmas presents. We do not do much for christmas. We always get a turkey, I bake, dance and flutter about. This year we purchased, at our village store - a turkey from Granny's in Winnipeg - oh Naj!

LLBean; geez - I was rather disappointed in them this year. Noisemaker picked for me a red flannel shirt and some red slippers. The slippers did not fit; they were sold out of the shirt; it was a bust. Many curses to the duty and taxes to pay.

Life does goes on -

Happy Birthday ~ from me to you ~ Florida John

Spring Is Just A Smile Away

Hope everyone had a good, happy christmas. I cannot wait for the new year, spring will be just around the corner. I love spring. This spring, I must get my windows cleaned. I was not able to do that last spring because of my injured wrists. I anticipate this spring will bring a spring in my step along with a couple of springs in my wrists.

...spring is just a smile away...John Prine

I am trying to revamp my blog here. I have had some folks email me that they are not permitted to post. Anyone that has a gmail account can post - if you are having problems with that, please let me know.

Sometime ago, I was having a problem with some foreign person, I could not read the language so I changed up the who can/can't. Maybe I did not do that correctly, but I do not need anymore foreign items in my life. Noisemaker is foreign enough! teehee

I want the blog to be colorful and vibrant - to state a purpose. No better way to start that - on January 1st. Jason Wilbers' birthday.

To note - Florida John's is December 30th.

Our Christmas Party

Our Ladies Auxiliary Christmas Party! What a crew we are.

I wore my newest Prine t-shirt; hmm...no one commented. Teehee - they know not of John Prine. But eh, I keep on trying to educate them.

A good time was held by all. It was great fun! Oh yes, and I had just turned 55!

Smucksville

The moon is changing. The mood of folks is changing. Honestly, folks - I do not want to join up with Linda on Mars, but I think my noisemaker should. He went into such a rage this morning.

Living rural, you have to do much via the telephone. Certainly, you can email. I am making reference to purchases. We cannot do this on line - we are on dial up. Everything that could have went wrong, went wrong this morning. Oh, I feel for those folks that are fighting wars that should not be. However, I feel I went through a war this morning. It is peaceful now.

I will relay to you, just one of my problems this morning ~ as many of you know Charlene Stevenson is an acquaintance of mine - oh alas - we went to see John Prine in October 2009.

Today, I received an informant card, - a parcel is at the Post Office. The card I received is addressed to:

C. Stevenson
**** Boulanger Road
*******, BC, ******
Canada

I called to Canada Post, only because I had checked the telephone book to fine that C. Stevenson does resides in a village 100 miles north of where I reside. Furthermore, there is a **** Boulanger Road, located 10 miles away. Now, I have a card, a number. I explain to Canada Post, give what is address on the card. I give my name, my address - and ask one simple question - is the parcel address to (say my name, my address) and is from (say) Madison, Wisconsin.

Bonus, all is correct! To confirm, I must relay 3 digits from the card I receive.

I was so frustrated by the events of the morning and obviously so was the postal clerk - I let well enough alone.

We will attend to the pick up of the parcels - oh, eh - we had two. Smucksville, thank god - the other was correctly addressed to the noisemaker.

SLUAPO!

Here's My Present!

Although, it is in transit; it'll be here in a few days. YIPPEE!

Can't wait to start finger snappin', along with toe tappin', John Prinein'.

Cheers And Beers

Yes, today I turn 55. I have some hours to go yet as I came into the world at 11:59 p.m. My brother and I are now the same age - he was born January 4th, 1955 - yours truly, December 8th, 1955. Oh my poor Mother ;)

It is a good day; I'm sitting here listening to Whitewater - John Prine. I love hearing the voices of folks that were at the concert. *paradise wave*

The snow is falling, mild outside. We could be in for some freezing rain later today.

Today, I remember John Lennon. It was 30 years ago today he was murdered. I wonder how life would have been if John Lennon could have remained in the world. Maybe John Lennon and John Prine would have concerto together. That would have been one heck of a concert; just think of them singing Paradise and Imagine together.

To all the folks that have sent birthday wishes for me - thank you, a big thank you. They are so much appreciated and you are all so thoughtful and kind.

My birthday wish - I wish I could meet you all.

All The Best

A Fine Day, Indeed

Yesterday, Noisemaker and I trotted on into the village - Noisemaker needed to have his prescriptions refilled. What do you think we forgot - sure enough - the prescriptions! Today, Noisemaker had to trot back in and get his pills so he can continue to live!

Oh, it is a great day indeed. I have John Prine playing in the computer. . .now I got a heart that burns with a fever... Delightful, nothing much finer than sittin' here on my own, in peace ~ listening to John Prine.

When you think of it; John Prine has given his fans so much ~ so many words that ring true. Songs that we cry to, laugh to, and want somebody to hug to.

Next to Paradise, my favorite song is now playing - Storm Windows. Some folks on the mountain side put up their storm windows some months back. Don't ya just the way John pronounces 'windows' - I love that!

The CD I am listening to - I do not where I got it from - one day it just appeared in my mailbox - teehee. I hear voices other than John Prine and those other two handsome gentlemen. I can hear the noises of automobiles outside and I can hear sweet music here. Don't let your baby down...oh no...(do them 3 chords, John).

Those other voices - sounds like a big burly guy and some little woman ;)

Angel From Montgomery - now playing - Jason is excellent on this song (and many others). I had to crank up the sound. Since I reside in rodeo land I should have me a cowboy - hahaha! In my dreams.

Funny, how you can grab the nearest item that would resemble a microphone - a beer can works excellent! Cow scissors do too! Oh here is that song - the honeybee song. Long Monday. Actually, it is a short Wednesday. hmmm..sounds like the little lady just coughed.

Does this not near bring a tear to my eye...I hear John say - Crusher - are you here yet - reply bounds in...Hi John. John says - this is for you (yell from the back - go Crusher)...John speaks - you brought you fan club too (I hear the little lady laugh). The song is My Mexican Home, one of Tom Reynolds favorites.

Milwaukee here I come from Nashville, Tennessee - you gotta love Iris!

I have to change discs now; go to Paradise. I join John and Billy in a fine chorus of Paradise. As my Dad would tell me - sing, Bev, sing.

I have been been told, I sing very well - I should. I have been doing it for years.

*paradise wave* (double)
