A ...continuation... my Noisemaker

My Noisemaker is doing very well.  I talked with Nurse Cal this morning, Noisemaker had a full breakfast, got cleaned up, and was looking for walk about this afternoon.  The specialist will be seeing him this afternoon and perhaps Noisemaker will be back home tomorrow.  If not tomorrow, Friday for sure.

I had a wild afternoon/evening yesterday.  A herd of cows came to visit - my word, there were probably 20 of the heathens.  I got my stick - chased, yelled, and finally made them get the h*ll out of here.

I got back into the house and a major rain/thunderstorm happened - knocked the power out.  I sat in my chair and thought to myself - okay what next.  I called to the power company only to find the power will not be stored until 11:30 p.m.

Good grief, I have my stepson coming to stay for overnight.  Greg had been taking care of his Dad, my Noisemaker.  I had told him earlier in the day, I will make a nice supper.  Not to be - no power.  When Greg arrived I served crackers, cheese, pickles, sausage slices, and cookies for dessert.

We had a nice long, family time, talk.  Greg went to bed and I awaited for power to return.  At 3:30 a.m. it returned.  Thank god.  We do have a generator but I am not strong enough to pull the cord to start it up.  I was so thankful to have company during the power outage.  It is one thing to have a power outage - quite another - to sit alone in darkness.

Greg left this morning loaded up with all the goodies I had prepared and froze prior to his visit..  Shortly after I received a telephone from my neighbor Gary B.  Gary B. was asking how my Noisemaker is doing...do I need any help...offers assistance for when my Noisemaker comes home.  What a great neighbor.

Weather Forecast - tonight - major thunderstorm, rain, hail, possibility of power outages.  lol - Gary B...I will be calling.

My Noismaker

My Noisemaker has made it through his surgery and is on the road to recovery. He will be up and about, a short walk is scheduled for today.  Hopefully, he will return home on Thursday or Friday for sure.  No complications are anticipated, but one never knows.

I cannot emphasize enough how important it is that men have a PSA test done, it is a simple blood test.  You women folk out there; tell your guy buds to please have this test done - your boyfriends, brothers, uncles, husbands, - just tell everyone - spread the word.  It can save a life.  For certain, the early detection from Noisemakers' doctor has saved his life.

I am really enjoying my 'peace' time.  I was on youtube yesterday, endless hours.  There is no television yapping in my ear, there is only peace.  I find the darkness hours a bit trying but I am plodding on.

Today I baked and baked.  I wanted to have some goodies for Greg (my step-son) to take back for the grandkids.  They love Grammas' baking.  I baked two honey pecan loaves and about sixty spice/butterscotch cookies.  I had bacon/mushroom roll ups already frozen - so it's a delightful care package all will enjoy!

It will not be an easy time for my Noisemaker when he arrives home, however, he is better off here at home than laid up in a hospital.

To my friends, acquaintances, my Prine friends (god, you folks are so special), I sincerely would like to thank each and everyone of you for your kind, caring, words - your thoughtfulness is much appreciated.

Noisemaker, Noisemaker
you have no complaint
you are what you are
and you ain't what you ain't
So listen up buster
and listen up good
Stop wishing for bad luck
and knocking on wood...

The Heron

I have been waiting near nine years to get a picture like this.
Here's looking at me - lol.

I did not go outside with my camera.  I had to run back, get the camera in hopes the heron would still be there - it was.  Finally.

Enjoy your weekend, folks.

Lydia

I was outside in the flower garden today lip flappin' with Lydia.  Oh my word, a light bulb went off big time - Lydia does not know her last name.  I near laughed myself silly...truly, I needed to have a good laugh.  I will laugh about this for days. . .

For the facts, I do know for Lydia.  She is the daughter of Virginia and Ray.  Lydia loved to read romance magazines up in her room and still to this day, she has a great fancy for Donald.

Lydia was, at one time, on the side of fat.  She is not that way in my garden, she is a beauty, Lydia is perfection.

Poor Lydia has had no male companionship this summer, so far.  Hans, Jose, and Donald have not paid a visit.  She was very depressed but I slapped on more rouge to her cheeks and that did make her happy.  Lydia is not hard to please.

Now, should anyone know the last name of Lydia - the daughter of Virginia and Ray, please post!  lol

Lydia hid her thoughts like a cat behind her small eyes sunk deep in her fat
She read romance magazines up in her room and felt just like Sunday on Saturday afternoon
But, dreamin' just comes natural - like the first breath of a baby
Like sunshine feedin' daisies - like the love hidden deep in your heart

Red Potatoes

Back in late May I planted store bought red potatoes.  I cut the potatoes that had eyes and plunked them on in the pots.

They flowered.  Apparently, the flowers were pollinated and now I have seed pods.  I did some research and found that the potato seed is treated the same as a tomato seed.  I will save the potato seed as I do tomato seeds.  Maybe one day I will live in a warmer climate that will enable me to start growing in February.  Until then, I will clean the potato seed and keep them in the freezer.

ah, Something to look forward to in my golden years.  lol.

Sunday, the mountain side

I love these flowers.

Smokey here today, due to forest fire activity - no danger to us.

Unfortunately, my noisemakers' surgery was postponed until August 25th.  All will be fine, we both seem to be a bit on edge and nervous.  When one goes off to the unknown - well, hells bells, anything can happen.

Beautiful weather we are having.  My little container garden is excellent.  I froze six bags of broccoli and three bags of cauliflower.  Next are the beets and potatoes.  I must do a separate post to the growth of the red potatoes, so neat - it is.

All else peaceful - hope same for you!

Pure Enjoyment.
Love It!

All photos taken off the deck yesterday morning.  The doe was approximately 6 feet away from me.  We both enjoyed our time together.

Garden Photos

My favorite area of the flower garden.  I changed the head to my rock heart (sideways - yep, tilt your head and you will see a quartz rock heart).
The wood piece is new, I found it while I was splitting wood this year, liked it, and Woody joined up with his friends in the garden.
My container grown cauliflower.  I have already harvested the broccoli - unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of it.  I received six bags which are in the freezer to use for stews and soups.
The garden has been great this year; with one exception - the tomato plant...
Bevy Bevy how does your garden grow
With silver bells and cockle shells and one god d*mn tomato
