Happy Easter

Happy Easter From The Peeps.

These were the pink peep cupcakes I recently made for our communitys' Easter Bingo.

Great news - in less than one week - high speed internet - FINALLY arrives.  Good grief and smucksville, we have been without high speed since we arrived here from the city.  It is highly welcomed on the mountain side.

Happy Easter ~ Indeed!

The Bible

ah, relax - and take a deep breath.  It's the movie - The Bible (Mark Burnett) a 10 hour - 5 part series.  Photo - Jesus - Diogo Morgado

I am enjoying the series, The Bible - I have not been educated on the bible, it is all new to me.  At times during the program, I look at my Noisemaker...questioning...eh - wait, pull in the reigns - it is not making sense to me.  Yikers and Smucksville.  Noisemaker, he went to Sunday school - he relays to me.

I asked my Noisemaker, do you know about the Missing Years...good heavenly day, he does recall.  It is confusing for him.  He recalls Jesus was a carpenter, wandered for 40 days...somewhere...I leave well enough alone.

...so he took out his guitar and he wrote a song called the dove of love fell off the perch...John Prine - The Missing Years...

Orange Pound Bundt Cake

Baked this yesterday.  Love the Heritage Pan!

This is what I took over for my neighbor down the road from me.  The cake is glazed with an orange/sugar sauce, delightful!  Nothing wrong with adding a big scoop of vanilla ice cream...Mega Delightful!

Heritage Bundt Pan

Received my new Heritage Bundt Pan yesterday - made by NordicWare - it is Wowsville!  I cannot wait to use it.  I am going to make an Orange Pound Cake.  A very rich cake, indeed.  6 eggs, 1 cup of butter, smucksville ~ it will be delightful.

I will be making it next Wednesday, if all goes according to plan.  My seasonal neighbor is coming up on Thursday of next week.  He is, well - rather in oh-my-god-what-have-I-got-myself-into mode...I think my cake will cheer him up!

My word, looking at these pictures and the Heritage Bundt Pan would cheer anyone up!  See more at www.nordicware.com ~ made in the U.S.A.

...and, no I do not work for the company - but love their products!

Derek Sanderson - Crossing The Line & Neil Young - Waging Heavy Peace

I would never have dreamed in my life time, I could be posting about two Canadian fellows.  Derek Sanderson and Neil Young.

I recently have read the bible of Neil and Crossing The Line of Derek.  Wow - I am so glad they both have lived through the ordeal with drugs and those other items that do cross the line.

I was raised in Northern British Columbia.  Hockey Night in Canada was a ultimate stop on Saturday night in our home.  My Mom loved hockey.  She loved Bobby Orr - always said, Bobby is a team player, he knows the game.  Between her and my brother -- well, they knew it all!

In reading both books, I can relate - I am Canadian.  I cannot relate to either issues with drugs.  I am certain drugs/booze/pills put Derek on a pedestal he knew he would fall from.  Derek had secure, loving parents.  Neil did too, in a different fashion/style.

It was a treasure to receive both books as gifts.  I will treasure them forever.

Neil Young, Derek Sanderson - eh.

Ever heard of that Prine guy?  lol ~

Derek Sanderson - Crossing The Line

oh teehee, I actually made this picture bigger, because many times Derek would skate up near the boards and it would be a blur. . .locks of hair - and as noted in the picture - eyes on the puck.

I am very pleased, so far, with reading Crossing The Line - I knew I would be.  Derek Sanderson with Kevin Shea writes not only about Dereks' years in the NHL (et al), but mentions Dereks' country, Canada - several times.  That makes me proud, I have such good company at my kitchen table.

I was pleased to read (and giggle) - they write a line on Neil Young on page 164.  It is in reference to Scott Young (Neil's father).  Also, Linda Ronstadt is mentioned along with several women in Dereks' past.  Yes, he did lead a very fast life, on the ice and off the ice.

Way To Go, Derek!
