My friend, Naj recently was in New York City to see John Prine - how lucky can one woman get!

She enjoyed the concert very much.  Naj was happy to be able to visit New York City and take in a Prine concert.  Her and her husband will return - there were many sights they were not able to take in due to time restrictions.

oh eh, look what she purchased for me (and one for my brother - the retired mail man).  I am so thankful to have great Prine fans from all over the world.  But Naj - holy prinesmucksville, she rings true.  Thank you, Naj.

Amazing. . .

Over four years ago, I lost my billfold.  It did not contain any money.  It contained a receipt from Home Hardware, my bank card, and my drivers' license.  

When I realized I had lost/misplaced my identification - I cancelled all.  

Yesterday, when I arrived home from the market, I find on my outdoor table, my billfold.  All, just the way I left/lost it.

Included in that billfold was my Prine ticket stub for Vancouver, May 5th, 2012.  I met my Prine friend, Naj and her husband, Brett.  We had a great time and many, many giggles.

There are some humans that are still human.  Believe right from wrong.

To those, I thank you for being alive.  Prine On. . .

My friend, Naj made this for me a few years back.   A great wind/snow storm in mid November took it off where it once was and placed it in the snow.

It is spring now, I found it.  I Sharpie Silver and it looks great.

Naj (Janis Ferguson) and Reeda ~ Nashville.  Who knows what may have caused the laughter complimented with the giggle factor.  A fun time they had, Great to see prinettes/priners actually meeting face to face.

Concert reviews were great for John Prine.  He was on his home turf and I was able to read a review from the Nashville newspaper.  I believe...A Good Time was had by all.  They Prined to the prinextremeville!  lol

Christmas 2015 ...Part Three

Throughout the years of past, I have made letters from Santa for my grandchildren.  My grandchildren no longer believe in Santa, however, a friend of mine, Janis - her grandchildren do!

I took to making those children a letter from Santa this year. Oh my, how special the letter was received.  Janis (Naj) her grandchildren are still on the side of - oh I believe, in Santa.  

Smucksville - from the video Naj sent forth, it was priceless to see the eyes of a child grow big.  The smile of Santa knows me, was precious.  

I hope you all had a safe, warm, Christmas.  With food on your table and a roof over your head.

I have been fortunate to have it happen for me 3 times!  ah, great fun.

Naj and her husband visited (well, a business trip for the husband), Nashville and made a side trip to Memphis to visit Donna.

I have been knitting my heart out and enjoying it very much.  Friday Crafts is so much fun!  The dishcloths will make great christmas presents and will be easy to mail.

My dishcloths will be going to friends and family.  To my friend, in Memphis - Tennessee via my friend in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  Lordy, international dishcloths - lol.

Happy 1st day of Spring - hope you all have some bounce in your step.

Luke Bryan - Fargo, North Dakota

Oh my, I finally received word from my friend, Naj about her daughters' attendance at the Luke Bryan concert in Fargo, North Dakota...


...Mom - we were so close I could see his whitey tightees...  lol!


I think if Luke wears any underwear under those tight pants, they are built in.  The pants seem to be made out of a nylon stretchy material as they do glide well with Luke.  God, do they ever - lol.


I did check on youtube and found two Luke (Fargo) videos - check it out - you decide what the vision of Luke's underwear is - lol.

Luke Bryan

Oh my, the day is drawing nearer to when my friends' (Naj) daughter will be in attendance at the Luke Bryan concert in Fargo, North Dakota.  February 28th - yeppers - we should all do the Luke on that day.


I noticed on the itinerary for Luke he is doing concerts in British Columbia.  Not that I will be able to attend but I will sure be thinking of the folks that are.  I will do the Luke on my own, on the mountain side.


Luke will be travelling on up to British Columbia in May 2014.  Doing shows in Vancouver - May 3rd, Kelowna - May 4th, and Dawson Creek - May 6th.


Yeppers, I just might surprise the mountain side residents and rise on up to the back of a pick up truck and dance.  oh my, I can so see myself doing that.  Hells bells, really I do not even need a pick up truck.  Some days when I travel on up the walkway, I do the Luke.


I do Prine on the walkway, I Young, and I Springsteen...sometimes I even get them all rolling on up together.  Such great fun we have - that is my kind of day tour!

Luke Bryan - 2014-02-28 Fargo, North Dakota

Oh, how exciting it must be!  A friend of mine, her daughter and husband will be attending this concert.  Coming from Winnipeg, the young, family couple - I am quite certain will enjoy an evening with Luke Bryan.


Good god almighty, if I was in my 20's I would love to attend a Luke Bryan concert.  I will be satisfied to Luke on the 28th of February.  I will be doing the Luke!  oh teehee, I am nearing 60! 


My Noisemaker leaves for the city on the 27th of February, I Luke on the 28th!  Oh what fun it is going to be.  I will tend on up to the wood, and then I will Prine, Young, Springsteen, and Luke!  I do treasure this time.  Do not get me wrong here, I appreciate my Noisemaker, but I truly understand that time alone is precious.  Quiet time - no Noisemaker time. 


As for the mountain side, well - a cold front is upon us.  The temperature this morning was about -22 and the (curse word) wind was howling in from the north, south, east, and west.  The snow was blowing in every direction...and that damn Crane! 


I await for summer, I await to plant my tomato seeds.  I talked to the seeds everyday - peek my head in the fridge and say...hi, tomato seeds - I can't wait to plant you, to watch you grow...and spring is just a smile away...

Pot Scrubbers

Recently, I have came upon two new pot scrubbers.  The above, is made is Poland and works very well on pots - everything inside and out.

This one does the same, only leans more towards the happier side of life.

John Prine - Take A Look At W&lMaRt

A few years back, my friend Naj had made a comment about doing some shopping at the W&lMaRt.  I cannot recall all the details but do remember the song of John Prine - Take A Look At My Heart came into play.

 

When it did, I took that to heart and made for Naj the suncatcher you see in the photo.  Naj, in her great wisdom, put it in a very safe place.  She went years without finding it.  I would ask her via email - have you found the W&lMaRt heart?  She did reply, I know I put it somewhere - safe...

 

Today, she found it - safely hidden under a knitting book.  Well Done, Naj.

Happy Canada Day Weekend

Our community bingo has started up again for the summer months.  I baked Canada Day Cupcakes in celebration for Canada Day, Monday - July 1st.

 

More cupcakes and a cute little treat box.  The treat box I did up for the raffle table - inside the box is a cupcake resting on a bed of candies.  On the box is printed Yum-Yum and yummy, yummy is right.  Naj (Janis Ferguson aka skunkeyejan) at the Naj Mahal sent the treat boxes for me, she is such a good friend.  I tell you, that buttercream icing on the cupcakes, good lord - I can eat that stuff right out of the tub.

 

News from the mountain side, well - I am thankful I have not seen anymore black bears (I am still very good friends with my whistle).  The deer came by in full dead out run as a dog was chasing them.  The deer ran towards the (oh, I am city folk) - seasonal neighbors yard and the young lad was outside.  The fellow saw the deer racing full speed ahead and started up to yelling and cursing.  I stood back laughing knowing full well the deer would jump the fence.  The deer cleaned it and four feet to spare.  I went over to see how shaken the fellow was.  He was fine, but deer taken.  Of course, he had never experienced or saw anything of that nature before. 

 

Living here you see wildlife all the time.  Mother Nature she works in mysterious ways.  I know to work with the animals and Mother Nature, not against.

Surprise, Surprise - a cream cheese filling!

 

Thanks to my friend, Naj for sending me such a fine cake mix.  Yes, it is a cake mix recipe (Pillsbury) and I must say it is very good.  Unique in appearance and a great surprise awaits when you cut the cake.

 

I share baked goods with my neighbors.  They (both bachelors) were extremely happy to receive the slices of cake.  The smiles on their faces - said it all.

Luke Bryan

All I can do is laugh - such an enjoyable Sunday - listening to Luke Bryan - Tailgates and Tanlines.

I have had a few folks mention to me, I am too old for Luke Bryan - ah, folks - that is what keeps me young.  I do not care what comments are flung to me; I like Luke Bryan.  eh - I also listen to John Prine, Neil Young, and Bruce Springsteen. 

Luke Bryan, reminds me - yes, I was once young.  Yes, I still believe I could jump on a tailgate without breaking any bones.  I still dance, I will dance forever.

As for Tailgates and Tanlines - there are two folks out there - who know how much I wanted to hear this cd.  Thank you Janis Ferguson and my brother.

On a side note - come on folks - get up and do the Luke!  I can hear the boom roaring in... great exercise song!
