Happy Birthday, My Little Boy
My 'little' boy would be 21 years old today - Happy Birthday, Yankee. Geez, I miss him. I can still smell his beautiful coat and I much would like to hug and kiss him.I recall; yikers - menopausal at the time - in my orb of crying fits, Yankee - he would come and lick the tears from my cheeks.
The Happy Birthday Song - that was his favorite! He would sing along right (or left) with me. I sang that song to him all the time, I knew someone, somewhere was having a birthday!
Yankee, left Noisemaker and I on June 28th - such a sad day it was. Noisemaker and I were not in a good way - he had lost his job; had one mega debt to the taxation company of Canada - we were sort of left with - sell everything. That is when we came here - to the mountain side. I have probably posted all this before...but as we all know...
...Memories they can't be boughten
Can't be won at a carnival for free
It took me years - to get those Souveniers...

Florida John
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FLORIDA JOHN! Cheers and Beers!I have been struggling, somewhat on the mountain side - frustration for me, abounds! I believe the new Nikon we purchased, is not dial up friendly - (nothing is). It does take good pictures, however, when you want to share -- holy smucksville. I could be waiting to upload like I could be waiting for a playtex bra to upload my breasts. A very long time.
I have contacted Nikon, did not really tell me anything I did not know. However, the young man I spoke with did speak good English, I was glad for that.
It is so hard living here; it is just frustrating. Like having to return Christmas presents. We do not do much for christmas. We always get a turkey, I bake, dance and flutter about. This year we purchased, at our village store - a turkey from Granny's in Winnipeg - oh Naj!
LLBean; geez - I was rather disappointed in them this year. Noisemaker picked for me a red flannel shirt and some red slippers. The slippers did not fit; they were sold out of the shirt; it was a bust. Many curses to the duty and taxes to pay.
Life does goes on -
Happy Birthday ~ from me to you ~ Florida John

More Celebrations, On A Sadder Note
John Lennon, had he not been slain would be 70 years old tomorrow. Imagine that!I am reminded of his death; he was murdered on my birthday. December 8th; a Monday night. Monday night, back then, I bowled. Us young ladies always went for a beer after bowling. Although it was my birthday, I opted to be homeward bound. When I arrived, my answering machine was in overload. Everyone was calling to relay to me the death of John Lennon.
I loved the writing of John Lennon. He certainly grab the attention of the government of the USA.
Good on you, John.
I will always remember you.

A Celebration, Indeed
Smucksville, I have so much to write today, I should be wearing my John Prine hat - Old Prine Fans Never Die - they just go to Paradise (where Tom Reynolds is now). I need the hat to keep all my thoughts in my brain.A Celebration weekend is near upon us. In Canada, we celebrate Thanksgiving and I do have much to be thankful for. Thankful for the friends I have, thankful for a body, a soul and a heart that still beats. Sometimes, it goes to flutter stage but that is only when I meet John Prine, see photos of Bruce Springsteen and a few other minor situations.
We have lots of seasonal folks coming to the mountain side to celebrate Thanksgiving. That constitutes a big baking day tomorrow. I have Honey Pecan Breakfasts loaves to make and 24 cupcakes. The cupcakes, I have fancy, decorative sugars to put on the icing. (Thank you, Naj).
The big celebration is the birthday of John Prine. October 10, 2010. 10-10-10. Hopefully, all will toast (big time) to Mr. Prine. On special Prine days, I wear my John Prine t-shirt. On really special days like Sunday, I will wear my new socks. I love new socks. When I went to see John Prine in Vancouver last October - yep - I had new socks. I wore my Prine t-shirt, my Prine pendant (Thank you, Charlene). Good grief, I even had black panties on that had a little 'J' label on them. Oh lord, I must focus or go and get my hat!
Oh yes, Naj - that is Janis Ferguson (skunkeyejan). I experienced some difficulty with email and got her and Jason Wilber mixed up. Her name got changed to Naj (Jan backwards).
We went to the village yesterday, we bought lots of groceries to fill up the deep freeze and the pantry. I should never let Noisemaker loose in a grocery store, alone. He comes back with two turkeys - oh, the good lad was just thinking ahead. One of the turkeys he purchased comes not far from where Naj lives. I bet you that will be the finest - best tasting turkey!
I am looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving and John Prine's 64th birthday - such happy events. Heck I was porch side this morning singing Happy Birthday. That was my dog's favorite song. He'd sing along with me. That brings such a smile to my face; such warm, loving thoughts of my four legged friend.
My lips will be flappin' this weekend and I did not want to miss the celebration blog for our Johnny. So ~ Cheers, John Prine, Cheers! Reminds me of the labels from Crown Royal that I had made up. Cheers - John Prine (that is what I put on the label). I think Chad thought the world of the labels as he is a whiskey drinker. I sent a label to Naj - it came back to me in the form of a flask - John Prine stickered! I placed it in my John Prine treasure box; *she does the paradise wave* at the Prine boxes - that sit atop the desk.
John Prine - he is a treasure. As are all my John Prine friends. I am so thankful for them, I so very much appreciate each and every one of them. They all have gold inside of them - they have hearts of gold!
Happy Birthday John Prine
Happy Birthday to you
I'm laughing like hell
Because I'm younger than you

Here's The Cake!
ah, my Noisemaker turns 64 tomorrow, here is a photo of the cake I baked for him. We cut the cake yesterday because he could not stand to look and not touch anymore.Four layers, white cake. Lemon pie filling between each layer - topped with whipped cream. My good god, it is so goooood, I had it for breakfast!
1946 - not only was Noisemaker born, but John Prine was too - yikers so was George Bush!
Side note - folks we have not moved from the mountain. The postal system changed our address from a box to physical. All is well - thanks.
Happy Birthday Noisemaker!

Birthday Greetings
Today is special - two birthdays. My grandaughter, Kayla turns 11 today, good grief! As most of you know today is also Tom's birthday. A very special day indeed. I even baked a chocolate cake! It is going to be so good.I knew I would weep this morning, I was just in that way. I watched the Waltons - that show always make me leak. I read my calendar and noted the birthdays today. Kayla, she was born shortly before my Mom passed away. I try to keep them separated but it is difficult. Then Tom's birthday. I miss him, I miss his cheery Crusher ways.

Oh alas, then I wandered out to the deck and thought well I should just dance and sing. So I broke into Fly Me To The Moon and danced! Oh made me feel much better.
