She is a Beaut for sure.

Have to get her a straw cowboy hat in order to fix her hair correctly.  I am quite certain after that Donald will be calling.

I do hope she does not get flattened.

Puzzles

Wow - one heck of puzzle to complete, but eh, so much fun!

As you can see from the picture all puzzle pieces do belong to the final puzzle picture.  Smucksville - this is the best puzzle I have ever done.

A star, an elephant, letters, hearts, dogs, a turtle, the list is endless - there were 50 mazed puzzle pieces in total.  Loved every minute of it.

The puzzle was titled Penguins. . . here is the finished picture puzzle...

You will have to look very closely to view all.  It was great fun.

Hope all went to vote today.  I reside in the beautiful province of British Columbia.  Today is our provincial election day.

John Prine - Beyond Words - (part three)

Oh, alas, the saga of Beyond Words - continues.  I received my heavy duty book in the mail today...certainly not what I expected.

Truly/honestly the title fits the words of the book - it is beyond.  

I was not expecting to receive a book of Prine that big - full of notes/chords/words and mega, mega pictures - what a delight!  

I believe John Prine filled the market in knowing that to print his words, chords, and photos would draw his most dedicated fans - and to this, he has accomplished...well done!

For John to write words on his concerts, his marriages, his wives, his life - I do not believe that would interest his true fans.

...and we all Prine on...


Oh yes, and the book was NOT autographed.  Lord have mercy and smucksville prevail, I shall have to Prine again - xoxo

I am near beyond words to print.  Holy Prine Smucksville, I ordered the book.  Happy Days!

I figured you only Prine once, best purchase the book.  Unfortunately, being as I reside in Canada, I had to pay for the shipping.  Ugh. . .

They had a box on the website to which you could give special shipping instructions.  I wrote in that box, could you please have Mr. Prine autograph it for me.  Oh lordy, would not that be a treasure!  I have my fingers crossed.

My Dad would have turned 97 today.  His memory, his beliefs - linger strong.

He believed strongly in his union... Unions as they were ...way back when.

I received his union anniversary pin - and will wear it proudly until I am able to go up north and place it on his gravesite.

Thank you - Dad. I miss you and forever will respect and love you.

Today, my brother is a very happy Priner, he is the retired letter carrier.  Everything with the emails - etal - worked.  He will be receiving his cd and vinyl within four to six weeks.  Thank you OhBoy Records.

My brother called early this morning to relay the news of his new purchases.  He was babbling and lip flappin' so fast like a young boy with a new toy truck or perhaps a bag of bubble gum!  

I was so happy for him and as he and I know telephone lines can do hugs.  My word, we laughed and hugged.  I cannot wait until the next telephone call comes and I hear...Bev, I got it!

It appears to me the record stores are soon going to be retailers gone like the dodo bird.  I have been trying to assist my brother in purchasing a cd, this cd.

For Better, Or Worse ~ John Prine

My brother, lives in northern British Columbia - not rural.  A city of near 100,000 folks.  A city which by the way-their one and only record store closed down.  

Dear brother calls me the other day and tells me that he needs to have the cd, For Better, Or Worse.  Okay - so in my slow way of technology, I finally learned to do burn and burn it for him.  Unfortunately, (oh giggle, giggle), I missed cut one, but eh, I got all the rest. . .

Brother tells me on the telephone that he has all the records, all everything John Prine and must now get this - can you help.  I replied well I believe you have to order on line.  He says, well don't they have a catalogue they could send for me, I will print my order and send it back to them via Canada Post and then we laughed!

He continues that he would like to have some new Dan Reeder.  You look that up for me okay, can you do that - we giggle again.  

After a lengthy Prine/OhBoy Records conversation it was decided I would send his daughter the information that is required for him to acquire the cd.

Chuck is a Prine friend of mine who resides in the U.K.  He was kind enough to gift to me a copy of his latest cd Shadows and Light (with Dave Luke).  Some very special songs on the cd and I have to say one of my favorites is The Moon, The Stars, and The Sun.  I could listen to that song over and over, great tune.

Chuck had the rare occasion in a beer parlor in Ireland to join in a music session with John Prine, Phillip Donnelly and a few others.  He will treasure that moment always.

John Prine ~ For Better, Or Worse

As most of you know, I love to yap on about John Prine and share his music.  I recently experienced an occasion whereby, I just played the music.  I gave no clue to who it was, nor that it was a new release.

Within minutes questions are filling the air...that is John Prine - isn't it?  Who are these ladies singing with him?  What are the names of the songs.  I loved every precious Prine moment of it.

I finally gave in and said, it is new Prine - what do you think?  The reaction was perfection.  "I cannot believe how good he sounds".  This comment coming from a Priner who has not been to a Prine concert in probably 40 years... 

and he ain't heavy, he is my brother

He explained how he felt that with the health issues John has had in the past years, his voice should/could/would have sounded different.  He was a bit different, but solid John Prine - don't ya think?  These ladies singing, who are they.  I went through the songs, the ladies - a delight indeed.

As I said, goodnight to my brother I said these words - Ma and Pa would have loved this For Better ~ Or Worse - John Prine...eh?  We hugged - once again in Prine agreement.
