John Prine ~ Vancouver ~ 2016/July ~ Incidentals. . .

My recent departure off this cursed mountain side to see John Prine in Vancouver, British Columbia has somewhat made me come to see a light bulb...ideas ~ possibilities ~ and being thankful.

In honestly is not too harsh in living here compared to the lower mainland of my beautiful province.  I have fresh air to take in, my air does not contain any smog, and people wave/stop/chat say hello in there.  There is no noise, it is calm and peaceful - I live near a lake and our home banks on a creek.

Yes, the winters are long, I must start to think of winter activities to partake in - soon!  I knit, I participate in community events and fundraisers.

Yes, I made knitting this Prine go-a-round for the ladies of the artists - the Mrs. of Prine/Jacques/Wilber.  I hope they all find a smile in homemade gifts.  It is a pleasure to make homemade gifts.

Destination Vancouver - you will be told to the hotel to which you stay - do not wear anything that will attract people of the undesirable nature to you.  That translates to women wearing big diamonds, men wear jerseys/hockey jackets.  It is best to leave that all at home.

I have know this for many a year, so yes, my wedding rings, etc., were removed before I left the mountain side.  geez, what a nice way to have to live. . .

Upon a very late arrival to my destination, I was greeted by fair skies and the anticipation of Prine the following day weighed heavy on my mind.  Would everything go right - would something go sideways (if so, what is my back up plan - smucksville?).

All did go relatively well, as planned, and my security was good.  My mind was not so secure in walking the streets near my hotel.

I did good.  I made it off the mountain side and returned safely ~ without getting robbed, raped, or murdered.

As for the Venue of Prine - Vogue - Vancouver - excellent.  The sound was great.  Seating not so great - to the four tall guys that sat in front of me...smucksville, you made me 'one sit leg' throughout the entire concert.  I loved how you chatted with your heads touching each other.  If I had my flingers, I would have tapped you on the head and said...buddies - let us break this up...short people are behind you.  I did not have flingers, but I did briefly stand up and knock the shoulders...like get it you fn lunactics -  lol.

Glad to see John Prine again, very glad.  I do not see in my future this will happen again...this was my last Prine Merry-Go-Round.  John will be celebrating his 70th birthday this year in October.  As will my Noisemaker...yikers, he will be 70 this month.

Best wishes to both.  All The Best to my Noisemaker and John Prine.

John Prine ~ Vancouver ~ 2016.07.09

Pure Prine Delight!

Paradise with (from left to right) Jason Wilber, Dustin Bentall, John Prine, David Jacques, and Barney Bentall.  The song was Paradise and paradise it was.

I am so very thankful I could attend and get off this mountain side for a few days.  It was the best Prine concert I have attended, it was golden.

Holy Prine Smucksville, I had a great time at the concert.  Excellent, perfect - I could not have asked for anything more.

I had some songs in mind that I thought I would like to hear him sing and much to my delight he sang near all of them.  Yeppers, I had to just yell on out hey, hey, Johnny!

John started the concert off with a Merle Haggard tune - Ramblin' Fever.  I thought to myself....oh this is going to be a great concert.

The highlight songs for me were - Saddle In The Rain (extended version), Sins of Memphisto, Chain of Sorrow, Storm Windows and You Got Gold.  The crowd very much enjoyed Illegal Smile.

Jason Wilber and David Jacques were both outstanding along side John Prine.

I met some new Prine fans and some old Prine fans.  I spoke to about eight people who, this John Prine concert, was their first John Prine concert.  They were all highly impressed with John.

All in all, Prine ~ Vancouver ~ Excellent (***** five starts)
Thank You, Mr. Prine

John Prine ~ 2016 ~ Vancouver, British Columbia

Four sizzling sausages and I have four more wake ups until I Prine - Vancouver, British Columbia.  Oh my, how lucky I am.

My excitement sometimes, does overcome my walk of life.  Smucksville, I get singing Prine and can easy be distracted.  Those little rocks downhill can make any leg slip, cause great damage.  I am really trying hard to focus on my walk, not Prine - smucksville - it is just a hard road to go.

John Prine - Lucky 13

Yeppers, 13 more wake ups and then it is a John Prine Day!  Smucksville, I find myself, at times, getting beyond excited.  I figure this maybe my last John Prine-go-round and I am certainly going to make the most of it.

Living rural, I never get to the golden arches.  While in the lower mainland, I will step through the archway and order on up a quarter pounder (with cheese), french fries, and a pepsi.  You know, it has to be three or four years since I had the food of the golden arches :)

The countdown to Prine has begun.

The Tribe

My brothers and I.
Three generations.

It was a fun time for sure.  Nice to go and nice to come back home.  So until next year. . .

John Prine - Vancouver, B.C. -

From 2009
John Prine autographing the Hatch Print.

And, to Prine I will be on July 9th, 2016.  Got my greyhound, good walking shoes, and my hotel booked.  Oh yes, and my ticket too - lol.

How exciting this is for me.

This Prine time around I thought I would take some of my knitted dishcloths for the Mrs. of Prine, Wilber, and Jacques.  Oh yes and Mrs. Nicholas Faddy.  I figured the fellows must receive many a gift, but not the other half staying at home.  With this here is a photo of some of my knitted stuffola.  The winter is long here, I knit mega.

I'm gonna get on the old greyhound and I'm gonna ride
Straight down the mountain to the city side
Noisemaker will miss me because I'm bona fide

Happiness

Ode to my little bit of red happiness on the mountain side.  I love my red wagon and my suncatcher flowers.

My small container garden is coming along - slowly but surely.  The tomatoes are doing very well.  I talked to them everyday and bring them inside for the night time.  One tomato even has three blossoms on it!  The beans are not beaning on up as they should, perhaps I shall get some more seeds and try again.  Temperatures have been in medium - not too warm and certainly cool in the night time hours.  You make the most of what you have.  Hells, bells, and smucksville if I can get one juicy homegrown tomato - ah life is good!

I loved his music and have always sang to my Homegrown Tomatoes.

He will be missed as a person and a great songwriter.

It Has Been A Long Winter. . .

Knitting Frenzy, for sure - all enjoyable and great gifts for friends and family.

Slippers, dishcloths, bathcloths, hanging dish cloths, it is a suitcase of knitting :)

A Few Days In The Life...

My gal pals and I enjoying a luncheon after we visited Desert Hills Ranch.  Great friends, great food, and one heck of a great day!
