Flowers

My neighbors' poppies - this is the most beautiful poppy I have ever seen.  I love the deep blue color on the petals.

Wild Rose - it does grow wild around the mountain side.  I have had to chop many down because I tire of being stabbed by the thorns.  A perfect color pink!

My Encounter, a close one. . .

Yikers!  Scared the you know what out of me.  I had just rounded the corner of the house to go back inside and poofola there was the big black bear.  I ran up the stairs; the bear stayed.  I got the camera and was able to snap this photo.  Naturally, when I was doing all that; I am lip flappin' a mile a minute to Noisemaker.  From here the bear went down the path (to the right in the photo), I suspect he was going to get breakfast ~ the fish in the creek.

We do not feed the wildlife on the mountain side.  Well, I mean - I do feed my self and Noisemaker and I guess we could be consider on the side of wild.  I do work with the animals; not against.  They were here on the mountain side way before I was and besides I do not ever want to tangle with any of them.

I wear a whistle now.  :)

The Creek and A Very Special Photo

The high creek - and the rain continues.
Several years ago, the creek was so high the beavers were able to swim on in; not so today.  The remains ~ The Totem Beavers.
This is a photo of my Dad and I.  September 2003.  He departed in October 2003.  I treasure this photo ~ Happy Fathers' Day to all!

...another day in Paradise, right?

Yesterday, under the influence of insanity I decided I should clean up the little abode located on the mountain side.  Noisemaker was where I am now, on the computer so the opportunity was there for me to take.  I cannot clean well when Noisemaker is watching television or in my way.  I started in like some wild woman that just escaped from the loony bin.  I have a routine and I do not like it when the routine is not followed.  Out comes the Noisemaker, he spots my utility bag of odds and ends I utilize for cleaning and starts going through it.  My vacuum cleaner tools, he seems to really have taken a like to.  Noisemaker starts in with the lip flappin' about vacuum cleaner tools...oh such good timing!

I do not have time for this - I say to him...look get out, get out - don't touch - can't you see I am busy...out with you be gone!  He looks in pure amazement at me.  I repeat, be gone with you, I am busy.

He escapes back to the computer room.  I proceed to finish with the cleaning.  About an hour passes and I hear a voice  - is it safe to come out now.  I laughed and laughed.

Ode to life on the mountain side.  Such a pure joy - oh and by the way ~ I in no way resemble the picture.  Imagine doing lady bug chores in a maids' outfit.

Yours Truly and The Rose

Each year our volunteer fire department holds a dinner for the ladies auxiliary members.  I attended it last night, it was great fun!  The roast beef dinner was delicious as were the desserts.  The members of the ladies auxiliary support the volunteer fire department with an annual bake sale and summertime bingos - all good for a small community.

As the evening progressed, I did The Luke, I Prined, and Danced In The Dark.  It was great fun, everyone had a very enjoyable evening.

Upon ending the gala event each lady received ~

A big hug and thank you to all the volunteer firemen.

One Eyed Lydia

Good Lord, Lydia has lost her eye.  I searched and searched to no avail; so now she is one eyed Lydia.  But eh, she has orbs.

I did not have any green felt at hand so I slapped the eye on anyway.  You know Lyd does have to both eyes on her quest to search for Donald.  She still has her orbs.

One Eyed Lydia - reminds me of One Eyed Joe...Saddle In The Rain ~ John Prine.

Extended Verse

Southern stars blow lonesome still dark and high
Black clouds shifting orange as they go passing by
Like some cheap religious painting hanging in the sky
You just touch my face and I wanna break down and cry
Break down and cry
If she should ever come down this way - grab her by the throat and say won't you please explain my saddle in the rain
Farmers nympho daughter moans lets do it til the cows come home

Prinercizing/Prancercizing

New twist - saw a recent video where a woman was doing Prancercizing - wow, it is a good thing.  Accolades to this woman.  You can find it on facebook/google - Prancercizing.

I took it to a new level Prinercizing. Good lord, folks ~ I also do Youngercizing, Springsteenercizing.  Any music that takes my fancy of the day, I can/will/do ~ cizing.

In case one needs instruction on Prinercizing - well, you do what you want to.  When one does not have a skipping rope, skip anyway.  When ones does not have a hula hoop - hula anyway.  Who cares - enjoy the fresh air, dance (hula), sing and skip.

If you are really lucky, you may enough find a mud puddle to splash in and do all of the above!

Off to the outside, I am.  I am going Prinercizing!

Bullwinkle

This is the second time we have seen this moose, it is a skittish fellow.  I do not know if Lydia spooked him or what but he did become very aggitated upon approaching Lydia.

I was thinking young Lyd may have thought it was Donald - but when I viewed the photo I realized Lydia was just pointing the way for the big brut to travel on.

Not a great picture, but when a moose comes along well, you just have to keep snappin' and hope for the best.

...but dreaming just comes natural
like the first breath of a baby
like sunshine feeding daisies
like the love hidden deep in your heart...
