Martin Brodeur/Kevin Martin

I like hockey, I very much enjoyed it when, in the nhl there were the original six teams.

Last night I watched as the Team Canada goalie, Martin Brodeur thought he should be to the likes of a baton twirler. He had his goalie stick a twirlin' and I am quite certain his toes inside his skates were toe tappin'. I thought to myself, I should email him and pose the question - were you hummin' up John Prine ~ were you hummin' up something prior to game time?

Today I am watching mens curling. It is Canada vs USA. The skip for Canada - Kevin Martin, he must have been toe tappin'/head noddin' along with his team members last night.

For hockey and curling the equipment utilized in the hand is similar. Curling - it is called a broom. Hockey - it is called a stick. It is not a baton like some prine majorette would use dancin' on into a John Prine concert.

Go For Gold Everyone...cause you do...have gold inside of you (John Prine).

One Wing Angel

Women are angels and when our wing becomes broken, we simply continue to fly - on a broomstick - we are flexible.

No 9 Pound Hammer 4 Me

It will be some weeks before I can swing the 9 pounder with the left hand. I was to the doctor/therapist today and I am healing well. I was able to see the xrays today - smucksville - what a sight. The bone located on the farthest left part of the left wrist was shattered; to the farthest right that bone was broken too, but not as shattered as the farthest left. Hope that makes sense. Each screw is about 4" long that will be removed in two weeks. I have four screws.

There is no plate. My wrist was too small for screws and a plate. teehee. Dr Nic says it will hurt when the screws are removed- I laughed and told him that is why they invented whiskey!

I received new bandages for the cast today - geez, it is dazzling. I have exercises to do at home, I tried to do some - yikers it hurts. There will be no treatment for the right wrist until the left wrist is fully operational.

Yep, the nine pound hammer is a bit too heavy, buddy - for my size - buddy for my size.

Vancouver 2010 Olympics

The Olympic Torch as carried by 235, the young lass in the red shirt/black jacket is my nephew's girlfriend - them young folk had a great time taking in the olympic events that were free of charge.

To note - the torch runners get to keep the torch they were running with. Each torch costs $400. The bill for this sideline runs billions, no way to ever recoup costs.

I actually saw this building - you know when - ah, geez, did not I tell ya . . .

Happy Hearts Day

To you and yours - Happy Hearts Day! early/belated whatever tune you dance to.

Dr. called yesterday, I can have the metal in my wrist removed without being put under - I like that news, I welcomed it.

Being one wing, yep - I do get tired. Geez, it is all I have in me to type. I am so thankful to still be able to shower/wash my hair and not fall off my perch. I wear a plastic bag over my cast. The bag works.

Olympics - Vancouver was not my first choice - geez, we will pay - my province will pay. The forgotten, the down and out have already paid.

Sometimes life seems like a sad, fallen situation. Before you know it - you have put your best foot forward, stuck out your big chest and low and behold you are no longer on the road of gravel, pavement - you have struck!

Without A Wing

Without a wing is a temporary set back. I am so afraid to walk in snow or on ice, I am not balanced - even with my walking stick.

I am right handed strong, I write left - I played guitar/bowl - most functions are right. The one I lack is ability thereof is to hold a knife/fork - geez - it is hard to eat.

I see how noisemaker gets himself - from the freezer a container of ice cream - dish one for him and not even ask - would you like a dish?

The gold is not running inside of him.

My Prine Friends have gold - all of them do.

It's Throbbing Prine Time

My wrist was throbbing mega today so I decided to sit a spell and review my prine photos of Vancouver. This is yours truly, John Prine and Mitchell.

John is getting ready to sign my Hatch Print. Good lord, I was all in-a-flutter. I still get that way when I look at the photos or chat about the upcoming Nashville concert at the Ryman.

I trust the Playbill Mitchell is holding is that of John Prine. Had my heart not have been throbbing to the beat of John Prine - you know if I had had my wits about me, I would have hoisted that Playbill right out of his hand. But oh no, I am dedicated to getting the Prine autograph with my new sharpie. See that finger tip of John Prine touching the sharpie - it's golden. I have not looked that naive for 45+ years.

Previous to the photo we were out in the back alley.

Now Mitchell - if you should ever prine on in to read my rural, simple blog - post dear man, post.
I want the Prine Vancouver Playbill. I will pay costs thereof.

Geez, does my left wrist look good there or what.

Lurking

Good lord, just as I get myself outside walking again, notification received yesterday that a pack of wolves and a pair of cougars are in the neighborhood.

I do not wish to meet up with either.

Another Day - Mountain Side

Well, tomorrow it will be three weeks that I have been trying to fly with one wing - being so cautious not to fall off the perch. I have learned a few things in the process thereof. The first being patience, I realize I cannot do certain everyday tasks. I have to wait for noisemaker to come and give me assistance. I have learned to sit a spell; sit and watch.

Noisemaker is very helpful - he has always been helpful. We each have our chores to do to make these four walls our home and we do them. I am doing them in slow motion.

I am been out walking and progressing everyday. I do panic sometimes because I have to be secure in taking my next step in the snow and ice. I have a very nice walking stick - it helps me balance. Reminds me of a song....doughseedough and balance - swing 'em off their feet - goin' to the barn dance tonight...Charlie Chamberlin and Marg Osborne - Sing Along Jubilee!

I have done my days in dancing with ice but I still have this wild dream of being some back up wooowaeeewaooowa singer for you know that guy John Prine. Geez, it would not be a hard task, I would love to do the *paradise wave* next to Jason Wilber. I would like it if all my prine friends could be there too. noticketdonna - she toe taps near excelantee. Se - background - she does not like attention. Forefront cc - swingin' them pendants. Reeda/peeda on the other side of Jason and I - hell - hit it - it is John Prine - together with the priners and prinettes!

I have been through the wringer washing machine today. I sit here to type in pure amazement to where to begin - with one typing hand. The news from several doctors was near 'they have struck the vein of gold/iron ore betty' but have limited medical education to do a repair. The doctors of the day have absolute no communication or so they tell me. Gezzegeeezzz, I have one dr telling me - go here, dear. Another telling me - oh no here. I finally bolted and said - I am doing what the 1st dr. told me to do because you all are making no sense to me.

In all these conversations, I stumbled upon a receptionist - I ask questions, pointed out flaws - relayed I am rural- she laughs. She then says.....your appointment of next shall be like it was February 16th.

Lotto night - pray. I want a big win - John Prine Nashville - is callin'

One Big Fish

Here's one big fish - a 34 lb. lake trout caught here at the lake on January 22. Apparently, when Terry was reeling it in, the lake trout decided to fish and it snapped a kokanee.

Ice fishing is not a sport for me - seems like I would rather dance on ice than fish on it.

The wrist - well, the specialist is to call today - oh, I do await his words of wisdom. I should send the noisemaker out to fetch us a box of beer, I could well need it.

Yesterday, I walked with my new cleats. What generally takes me 15 minutes took me a solid half hour, but I made it. Noisemaker came out to see if I had maybe went dancing again, but not to be, I was on both feet; just toe tappin' very slowly.
